Afras vs Pentair ?

I was told by a pool installer that afraid and Pentair are the same pumps, but it appears they are different pumps. Are they the same pump?

I was looking at an afras pool pump that says Pentair compatible, what does that mean?

Kind of like saying that Cessna 152 is the same as a Boeing 747.. They are both airplanes, right???

My dad taught me a long time ago that if you buy a good tool you only have to cry once, when you pay for it. But, when you buy a poor tool, you have to cry every time you use it...

I think your pool builder is full of Bull Feathers!!

The Afras pump looks the same as the Calimar/Circupool/B+D/Blue Torrent pumps right down tot he same automation adapter. I think all these pumps come from the same Chinese factory who brands them for the customer. This pump looks identical to a discontinued Pentair VS pump right down to the manual where only the pump name was changed.

I would look into what "Pentair Compatible" means. I don't think it as RS-485 VS support.
