Hi everyone, we have a fearly new pool installed and I am finding myself having to add water at least every other day without any swimming going on. Is this normal due to hot temperatures, or should I be worried?
Depends on where you are located and what kind of pool you have, but you did not provide that info...
In the DFW area it is not uncommon to lose about 1/4' a day... Marty, a moderator that lives in AZ, says he can lose 1" a day in the middle of the summer.
Hi Angela,
If you want to relieve any worries you might have about the possibility of a leak in your pool, you can do the Bucket Test to confirm it. Just google Bucket Test, on YouTube.
Thank you everyone for the feedback. My pool contractor came today to check if there is a leak or not. So far we have been losing about 1inch every 2 days. We have not been swimming this past 4 days because there has been rain and we are still losing 1 inch every 2 days.
We have an inground pool with a spillover hot tube. Pool and hot tube combined were filled with 15.000 gallons of water. We are located in Charlotte NC.
