Newbie - I don't own a pool but I might in the future

Hi all, the summer has started and even though I live in Southern New Hampshire, I wish I had a pool. I have a 4 and 6 year old that are home from school and it would be something for them to do for the summer for the next 10 to 12 years.

I just started gathering information about pools and I have not yet decided what I want and I really don't have a time frame to do it. I was thinking of saving up a bit more money and do it next year. There are so many choices and options, I thought it would be a good idea to see what people here would have to say.

This looks like a good site to get advice and I hope I can contribute as well. Best wishes.

Welcome, this site is a great starting point. I wish I had found it sooner.

Take a peek at the pool school link at the top right. Tons of good info in there. Also check out some of the build threads for ideas. I went with a big above ground pool that I got for free, it only needed a liner and of course to be moved. Some folks start off with the Intex ones, cheap way to see if a pool is something you want to have.

BTW, my kids have loved our pool since day 1.
