1st Pool Build - Freeport, TX

Such a gorgeous pool! I LOVE the tile at the waterline! And the plaster color goes perfectly! Your pool is about the same size we are doing. It's so nice to be able to see others' projects to help visualize our own. Thanks for sharing!

We just got done night swimming / brushing the pool. So far my favorite colors are blue and purple. We're hoping Nicky warms up to the pool. He's on the older side so he may be too stubborn to learn.

Sorry to hear about your recent loss of #6. We also just recently had to put down our older female boxer Yashi. We were hoping the pool would be done before we lost her but it didn't work out. She was about 12-13 years old and her degenerative myelopathy was getting really bad. Here's a pic of both Yashi (left) and Nicky (right). We've got her ashes and we plan on putting some in a planter pot near the pool.

The tongue in this photo cracks me up! My dog when he is tired will let his tongue hang out. He sleeps like that all night and when he wakes up it is rock hard. He has to pull it in and out of his mouth like 100 times in the morning to soften it up. It is hilarious.

Thanks Nursenini! We are trying to take advantage of the pool as much as possible since we just got done at the end of summer. It has truly been a test of patience. Good luck with your pool build and I will follow your build when it gets started!

Yeah that was one of the reasons why we adopted him. We saw his extra long tongue on the boxer rescue site and knew we had to adopt him. Luckily his doesn't dry out too badly. You should post a pic/video of your dog softening up his tongue!

Another small update on the pool area. Inspired by tcrote5516's pool LED installation, I decided to install LED lights along the top railing of the fence around the yard. Here's the first installation on the 4' fence along the canal side. The lights come with a remote that you can rotate through the colors or set it to flash/dance.

And here are the white lights. These are bright enough to light up the canal sidewalk.

Now to install the rest of the lights on the other fence.

Wow, those lights are awesome! I love the blue, and they flash in different colors?! So fun!

What a great place to unwind and relax.... right on the canal!! Just make sure you relax some and don't spend all your time on projects!

Suz.

Thanks Suz! There's always projects to do but we've been in the pool everyday since it was finished thanks to the warm weather we're still getting.

LOVE the lights! Nice touch!

Kim
Thanks Kim! Now to figure out how to install the lights on the other fences as the 6' privacy fences don't have quite as large a "lip" as the 4' fences do.

Thanks Crackerjack4u! I still have to permanently hard wire them in though.

HEY! Thanks for the nod! Those look absolutely awesome! Whole project has come out amazing, love the ledge/color of the pool itself and of course your lighting choices;)

Can you just post the source for your LED lights here so everyone can benefit? Or is there a reason you'd prefer not to?

I wasn't sure what the rules are regarding links to online retailers but I'll go ahead and post the link just so everyone can look at what I purchased.

I ordered them from eBay. Here's a link to the set I got: MI Light WiFi 5M 10M 20M 40M RGBW 5050 SMD LED Strip Light Flexible w 12V Power | eBay . For that section of fence I ordered 20M ~ 60' length. I purchased another length of line for the other fence but haven't installed them yet (waiting for weather to warm up). The power supply this comes with will support at least two lines at this length.
