Evidently there are several differences in pool PVC unions. I have what I believe is an all Hayward pool. I'm attempting to replace on of my pool valves because of sun damage. It has PVC unions on either end so you can just pull that valve out and replace it with new PVC union and slide it right back in. See attached photo, please. But I'm having a devil of a time finding a union that will work. All those I've found have too fine a thread and are too deep on the threaded end. I see no markings whatsoever on the thing. It is white. Now I did redo several others a few years back and had no trouble getting the right unions. Anyone have any suggestions for me as to what to do. I really don't want to be cutting off pipe since they are so close to the ground now. Thank you.
