Tanning Ledge..

I have some rough plaster on my tanning bed, I am going to drain it down to below the ledge for tile install. Is there anything to smooth out the rough plaster? Thanks

My husband says "what about wet sanding?" That was his first thought when I asked him. He says do it like you would wet sand a car. I bet a search will pull something up. Just be ready for a kind of mess with the plaster you sand off but it should be easy to vacuum up.
