Ok, thanks for confirming my suspicions. I'll lower TA and aerate to raise pH. My fill water is high TA, which I usually don't have to do as we get rain, but not this summer so that's not helping.

Checked pool at 11 am and saw about a dozen small quarter sized patches of algae. Checked FC 25. Brushed and vacuumed. Is this normal to still get patches of algae despite having chlorine at shock level for over 28 hours?

Thanks for recommendation! I looked at both TF100 xl with speedster and K-2006-c and decided TF100 will meet our needs better long term. I went ahead and ordered XL because I will probably need to run tests a few times until I figure out kit.
