Ah OK. I think I have also seen hose bibs plumbed there for draining purposes as well.

Where does the water that is drained go? Is there either PVC or a backwash hose at the 3rd port?

I would also vote for cartridge, but DE maintenance i.e.backwashing can be minimized if you have a robot.

Lat week my robot had his 1st birthday, so I soaked the filters in a 5 gallon bucket of water and threw in a dishwasher pod. Came out looking a lot better. If that doesn't work I would go the TSP route that @Newdude mentioned. Not sure I would use MA though, no matter how bad they were.

Just wanted to add that another reason for not going with the V-Green 165 was that I likely would not utilize the digital inputs function; therefore I would not be able to know the time on its internal clock. That could cause an out-of-sync condition between my SWG's timer and the motor/pump...

Thanks James. Unfortunately the label is no longer there. I won't be able to determine the impeller P/N until I remove and disassemble the old pump. I guess I should do that prior to ordering the new pump? My pump's strainer lid is an SP-3100D if that helps.

Hi, Attached is the label from my 2-speed filter motor pump. I don't understand the 1.5/.20 HP specification. Does anyone have any ideas? Also I suspect the issue I am having with it requires a new run capacitor. I replaced the start capacitor this morning and it didn't resolve the issue...

Before you buy the skimmer plate, have you checked to make sure you don't have an in-wall suction port? Then you could skim and vacuum at the same time.

Thanks again. I noticed the pin was missing after I reinstalled the gauge. It's reading zero with the.pump off so I think I'm good, but I may grab a new one anyway.

I was replacing the air relief valve on my DE filter and needed to remove the filter's pressure gauge (link below). Upon taking it to the garage to apply some teflon tape to the threads prior to reinstalling, I seem to have lost the little metal plunger that sits on top. Is this a problem...

Thanks everyone. I ordered the $10 valve from Amazon, and installed it today. So far no leaks. There are 2 or 3 pretty good videos on YouTube which guided me through it.
