Trying to identify Cal Hypo tablet

That is correct. I only used them by themselves in a skimmer basket. Can’t believe I was told they were CH sticks. The way no residue was left behind I should have known.

That looks like them. Thank you for the clarification.

Trying to identify Cal Hypo tablet

Thank you. I will do just that. Do you know who makes the big cylinder shaped marshmallow looking chlorine tablets?

Trying to identify Cal Hypo tablet

I was given some Cal Hypo tablets by a friend a few months back. With the seasons changing and Trichlor tabs getting harder and harder to find and the price skyrocketing, I’m going to use some Cal Hypo tabs in my skimmer basket sparingly over the winter. The ones I was given looked like an...

Pool is crystal clear, but sky high FC (22) and CYA (off the charts), and zero CC

What is your normal method of chlorinating/maintaining/balancing your pool water?

Cloudy water when adding liquid chloring

I've never ever experienced this. I'm curious also as to what type of liquid chlorinating agent you are using.

    Chlorine Feeder

When I moved away from tabs after 2 years, my CYA was 120, maybe higher. If you decide to use them as a way to keep your pH from rising and the CYA stable in your pool, you MUST keep an eagle eye on it and do not fill your inline chlorinator with more than 3-4 tabs. I find that 10% pool...

Recent CPO class/ pool maintenace debacle/Clorox now 6.0% sodium hypo

I added 4 lbs of stabilizer in late March/early April when it was beginning to warm up. I had my CYA level up to around 60. I tested today at less than 40, really closer to 30. I like to keep my pool's CYA level around 60-70 with the extreme heat, intense 12+ hrs UV exposure, lots of rain...

Recent CPO class/ pool maintenace debacle/Clorox now 6.0% sodium hypo

I have read on more than one post on here that intense sun and UV exposure like we have here in south Louisiana "may" cause CYA to degrade/oxidize

Preparing for deep clean Pentair Tagelus, nervous and skeptical

I really want to give my sand filter a deep cleaning. I know I am going to have to make 3 cuts and install 3 union fittings. This is a Pentair Tagelus 325lb sand filter. Is it the bottom gasket that holds the filter multi valve on?

    Sand filter deep clean

I'm curious about this as well. I'm going to have to cut my pipes and install union fittings to deep clean my Pentair Tagelus. I want to, but am somewhat timid.

Is Clorox with Cloromax from Costco ok

Clorox added CLOROMAX to the product, AND REDUCED the amount of sodium hypo to 6.0% down from the traditional 8.25% What a stupid decision. I quit using Great Value and Clorox brand and now I alternate Pool Essentials Swimming pool chlorinating liquid and granulated Cal-Hypo. The Pool...

    Helping friend with a SLAM

Correct. She couldn't believe that 10% pool chlorinating liquid could do what all this other expensive stuff they are spending money on. And its been a good bit. - - - Updated - - - Yes. I understand. I was introduced into this situation after corrective measures were taken. - - - Updated -...

    Helping friend with a SLAM

I'll try to be brief. A fried of mine let their pool go over the winter. I'm picking up after some bad advice from the pool store that was given to them. They have already shocked twice with stabilized shock, and are still running their SWCG. 18,000 gallon vinyl liner pool. Sand filter. So...

Recent CPO class/ pool maintenace debacle/Clorox now 6.0% sodium hypo

It's hit or miss with SWCG. Some have it, some don't. I'd much rather encourage the pool owner to consider having a SWCG installed rather than a Stenner pump. I'm not sure I'd be willing to plumb one in or install either in being that I never have.

Walmart bleach- careful 6% vs 8.25%

I do not believe AT ALL this is a labeling issue. On the Clorox website it states they are using this new CloroMax technology so they were "able" to reduce the amount of SH to 6.0% from the standard normal 8.25%. I think it's a dang shame. I now buy the Pool Chlorinating liquid in the swimming...

combined chlorine test discrepancy with Taylor test kit

It is clear. It is a new bottle. - - - Updated - - - I'm just trying to determine why when I use a 10ml sample that CC's show up. One drop of the R0003 clears it up. But it NEVER shows CC, never changes colors when I use a 25ml sample.

combined chlorine test discrepancy with Taylor test kit

I'll keep it brief. When I test my pool water using a 10ml water sample, after my FAS-DPD CL test, I check for CC and I always get a slight pink tinge. When I use my normal 25ml sample, I never get a pink tinge when testing for CC. Even if I add 10 drops of the CC reagent instead of 5...

Walmart bleach- careful 6% vs 8.25%

I reported this information and it is indeed true. Both CLOROX name brand is now 6.0% SH and Great Value is also. The only CLOROX blend that contains 8.25% SH is their branded GERMICIDAL.
