    Leaking from waste pipe

Thank you for your response. I looked up replacement for gasket on these and it looks like you have to do it with glue. Given that my equipment is below water line I don't think that I can just replace gasket as I wont be able to get the area dry. Would you say thats true? I am having same issue...

    Leaking from waste pipe

Yes it the hayward sp715xr50. So based on this diagram the spider gasket is part 12 I believe but I don’t actually think it comes apart🤔. I did put it all back together and not leaking when on filter. Leaks on recirculate though.

Does this one have a separate spider gasket? It’s the whole unit no?

    Leaking from waste pipe

Hello, we recently opened but have not started SLAM yet as I am trying to figure out why we continue to have leaking water (not gushing but steady small flow) from the waste pipe. It seems to be happening regardless of the position of the Hayward Multiport Valve. I took apart to look at spider...

    Motor replacement

Fairly certain I need to replace motor. Right before closing last year it continued to turn off after running for 20-40 minutes. Never got hot to touch but seemed to always trip somehow. I had a provider out to look at it but no resolution. Anyways, currently I have Century USQ1152 but believe I...

Can't stop water flow to pump to blow lines

Hello! We are attempting for the first time to close ourselves but having difficulty getting the water to stop flowing. Thus far we have; 1. Balanced chemicals & cleaned debris 2. Brought water level down to just below the skimmers 3. Cleaned out DE filter grids and reinstalled (cap on back...

    Continual lowering of pH

Thank you all for the quick responses. I treated today to lower to 7.2 and will test in a few days to maintain. The difference between maintenance (and mindshare!) from this year to last year, which was my first year as a pool owner, is night and day thanks to all the information on this site...

    Continual lowering of pH

Hi there, Lots of threads already on this but not able to find specific answer. I am finding that each time I test my pH is high (8 or above). I always treat with recommended amount of MA from PoolMath. I’m sharing my log (first time doing this so hope it works properly) but any advice is very...

Zero suction from shallow end skimmer

Thank you both for responding. Jim, you actually helped me not too long ago with valve leak which we recently resolved. Here is a photo of equipment. I understand the plumbing is not most logical.

Zero suction from shallow end skimmer

Hello, this has been the case since we moved in to home almost 2 years ago (since then I have learned to manage pool myself thanks to TFP!) The shallow end skimmer has zero suction though the return has output. As you can see in photo the pool has 2 skimmers, 2 drains. Deep end has great...

    Pool Light

Hello, we never use the pool light and I am wondering why the concrete changed near it. We have been in home with pool almost 2 years and its been like this since we moved in. Thank you!

    No water flow

Hey Jim, I’m in the midst of slamming the pool and the leak seemed to have subsided initially but I can definitely tell there is air coming in. When I keep the valve open it sounds like the pump is working harder and there is clicking sounds near valve. What I am wondering is if keep the valve...

    No water flow

Thanks. One thought- could I just close that valve and run it all through the deep end ?
