2005 Sundance 850 Marin pump 1 function questions & other small issues

The ozone generator is probably shot. They don't last more than 3-5 years. Pumps should run when turned on. Pump 2 does this, pump 1 does not. A quick test will be to reverse the motors for pump 1&2 as they should both be single speed pumps. Does the problem follow the pump? If it follows the...

Main Breaker Tripping But NOT GFCI

That's a GFCI breaker. If you are replacing a GFCI breaker, yes, you need the neutral pigtail. That looks like a Cutler Hammer BR series and if it is, Home Depot sells it for $130. Which panel is that from?

    Electrical question around pump replacement

They should be interchangeable. The close parallel terminals are the same polarity on the capacitor.

    Bull frog cleaning-filtration cycle

Your tub got cloudy because the Frog was out of or very low on sanitizer. It's common with Frog because most people don't check it regularly. That's one issue with Frog that you won't get following TFT's system. You monitor your tub using TFT daily, so you are always aware of your sanitizer levels.

    Bull frog cleaning-filtration cycle

Frog is releasing sanitizer and treating the water thru the mineral cartridge anytime there is water flowing. The cartridges have a series of small holes that release amounts based on how many holes are exposed. My Artesian is plumbed to the circulation pump and will release chlorine when it...

Hot Tub Jet Won’t Stay In

Have you tried calling LPI customer support? (423) 349-2900 Honestly, I would be surprised if you actually get someone to help there but it's always worth a shot. Post up the size of that jet, I'm sure we can find it somewhere. LPI is buying that from either CMP or Waterway. They don't make...

    Ahh-some purge directions???

I went to the Ahhsome website. The written instructions were very easy to find so I'm not sure where A.O. was looking. As far as the video's, I agree with A.O.. If you looked hard enough, you can actually find the video where you are told 1 tsp per 125 gal of water but it's not until over 6...

Hot tub finally working but using a lot of electricity as the heater is always on

Do you have a good cover? What is the temp set point and does the tub get to that point? Do you have a circulation pump? What is the filter cycle set for? Normally one would set it for 2 hours a cycle, twice a day. Setting F2.

Identification and upgrade options of new (to me) spa

It is most likely a Dreammaker tub. The Gecko IN-YJ-2 control box cannot be retrofitted for an external heater. It is strictly a heat recovery system. If you want to wire in an external heater, I would recommend replacing the Gecko box with a Balboa VS501 or a BP7. Both of those setups come with...

Nordic Encore LS pump issue (2 issues actually)

We are going to need pictures of your spa pack, the wiring diagram usually found on the inside cover and of the equipment area. Tagging @RDspaguy for help once we get the pictures.

3 ohms on the heater is not good. It should be around 14 ohms.

Trying to Decide on Hot Tub Filtration

Forget the built in salt system, go with a drape in unit like the Saltron Mini if you want a salt system.

Trying to Decide on Hot Tub Filtration

The Frog system does work and it's easy to maintain, it's expensive to use. Some don't believe it's the best system and that is probably true. It's not "smart" it's time delayed chemical disbursement. Dichlor and liquid chloring is a better system of sanitization. It works but it requires more...

New Sundance Spa - Choosing a Sanitizing Routine

    Correct replacement motor?

Hard motor to find apparently. This one should work for you. US Motors (Nidec), AGL15FL2CS, 1.5/.125 HP, 3450RPM, 1PH, 115V, 48Y Frame, Pool and Spa.
  19. C

    Correct replacement motor?

Looks like your original pump is a 2 speed pump. If so, then you need to replace it with a 2 speed pump and the prospective replacement you posted is a single speed pump. Base your replacement pump off of the amp draw.

    Hot Tub disposal

Many commercial/residential haulers offer bulk pickup service. When I was in Durham, you just left it out by the road and once a month, they came by with the bulk truck and took it. Here in Wentworth, I have to call Waste Management to be scheduled, then on bulk pickup day, they come and get it.

Advertise on Craigslist or Fb Marketplace. If it's still working, even better. Working, ask a few hundred for it, non working, say free. They have to move it.

    Master Spas Design Defect?

Nowhere in my comments did I say anything about LX pumps running hotter than Waterways pumps. I have no idea how you got that conclusion. What I said is that there is a serious supply chain shortage and that Master appears to have done what other Spa manufacturers have done, which is to...

    Master Spas Design Defect?

While there are many pro's that don't think much about Master Spa (despite one Canadian shill), Master is seeing the same supply chain issues that all manufacturers are seeing. I know that Artesian is temporarily using LX pumps and Gecko controls in some of their lower end lines now because...

Anyone use an inflatable spa in winter? (freezing temps)

You are correct. I wasn't going to get into the details on exactly how to do it in my brief post. My main point was that doing it right (240V run instead of 2 120 runs isn't necessarily more expensive)

Anyone use an inflatable spa in winter? (freezing temps)

Plug in units are normally spec'd for a 20A circuit, therefore #12 wire is required. Running a second circuit, cost wise is pretty close to the same close as running a 50 A 240V circuit using #8 wire. Electrically, 2 120V or 1 240V circuits are the same but local code might differ. Some...

    Calling all Bullfrog Spa Owners

I love our lounger also. I'm 5'7" and stay put pretty good. I'll soak in the lounge watching TV for 30 minutes or so. Great place to relax. However, a lounge does take up a lot of space and not everyone will stay put in one. Different manufacturers have slightly different lounge parameters and...

    Killed my spa heater

Your heater relay still should be replaced. Chances are that the relay contacts arced over and stuck. Your electrician tapping the relay shook loose the contacts apart but they will fuse together again.

    Killed my spa heater

The relays can be changed by someone who has experience with electronics repair. It's not that difficult of a job. I would recommend changing out all of them, to be safe. They are not overly expensive. If you know how to solder, you can do it yourself, I would but I also have an electronics...
