Just another T-15 end of life story?

I guess it had to happen eventually... it seems like Hayward T-15 is dying. Unit states "Low Salt", but when checked via 1766 testing shows 4600ppm. Shame on me for just adding bags of salt without recognizing a problem immediately. I replaced my cartridges (unrelated, it was time after 5yrs)...

Calcium: How many of you are tired of using pumice stones, or using acid and scrubbing for eternity?

I know many will disagree with my approach. I will be the first to say it's not for everyone. But there is nothing like the almost immediate satisfaction of having calcium disappear before your very eyes. It still takes a while, but I bought three batteries so I can get more done at once. I use...

Any ideas why this problem exists....

It's possible. Never thought about using a sealer at waterline.

Any ideas why this problem exists....

Yesterday I was carefully removing calcium with a dremel and a polishing disc... I noticed that the grout was breaking down directly above described area (near spillover)... I'm going to schedule a construction day and fix this and other areas. If I still have the problem after doing these...

Any ideas why this problem exists....

Hi Everyone! It's been a while since I've been on but want to float this out there.... had pool built about 4 years ago... now it seems like the right half of spa is collecting more calcium than the rest of it. I've always thought there was an internal "problem" between the tile, grout and...

    Proper Valve Replacement Preparation

Right on. Thanks for your help! EDIT: I just completed it and it went smoothly. I guess the biggest problem was me not understanding pool plumbing... I thought there was always water in those pipes. Thanks again!

    Proper Valve Replacement Preparation

Hi Everyone... well I've had my pool for a few years now and I am planning my "first" real plumbing tweak. For spa bypass valve (pictured with red arrow) I want to remove manual ball valve and replace with Jandy two way valve and Hayward actuator (as other 3-way valves pictured).... is there an...

Thanks for the info! Hopefully not becoming a national shortage.

    Chlorine & Acid Supply Shortage???

Good to know. I went to two local pool supply houses and Home Depot. No inventory here in Riverside, CA and no ETA on restock. Of course that was almost a week ago…. I found a supply house a little further away and got a case, because that was their limit. Hoping that this is just a blip but...

    Chlorine & Acid Supply Shortage???

I didn't see a post about this recently but wondering what everybody is doing when they can't get muriatic acid? I've been told told two major plants shut down, and the ones that are open are short handed and alternating between chlorine and acid production. In the absence of muriatic acid, is...

...Nothing like adding sharp stones to your Baja.

Thanks. It’s a great idea to at least get extra water for the garden.

...Nothing like adding sharp stones to your Baja.

Thanks. That’s sounds like the easiest solution so far. Using a pumice stone to get those stone freed from plaster is not something I wish to do again.

...Nothing like adding sharp stones to your Baja.

With the nice weather in SoCal been getting ready to enjoy the pool. I noticed a few things.. the aggregate from garage shingles is ending up on the Baja... and it appears to be binding pretty well to PebbleFina. Plaster is almost 2 years old. Probably because no flow over baja. I had the return...

How do I get rid of salt stain?

Thanks for the tip! It’s in the deep end so I’ll wait until it gets warmer to deal with, especially if I have to put blocks on my back and hand scrub lol. This happened in October and I tried to brush it out then with no success. Noticed again yesterday as I pulled off cover for routine debris...

How do I get rid of salt stain?

I have never had this problem before. Purchased basic softener salt from Home Depot no additives. I got lazy and dumped salt and brushed... but didn’t brush out until completely dissolved. The next morning I noticed a yellowish stain and remains of salt in same area. PebbleFina plaster. Any help...

    Getting old and forgetful.....

...turned fill valve. Forgot to set a reminder. Went out early this morning to see that my deck drains work great ... but while driving around for work today I got to thinking.... I may have done myself a favor... you see my CH was previously 775 or so... and I had been putting off the...

    Fall is coming to SoCal...

Haha. It’s not really closing per se as much as realizing temperatures are going lower and I want to capture solar warmth for weekend use. I still have yet to do some annual tasks like cleaning cartridges, although pressure has not changed at all since Pool was built last year. Thanks for the FC...
