    Another Texan joining in

Houston pool owner here - wish I had stood firm on SWG, but let the PB talk me out of it. Definitely endorse the TFP process to a sparkling clean pool though!

Stenner Econ T Up and Running

Happy to say that I finally got my LC distribution well in hand. Ordered and received a Stenner Econ T peristaltic pump and 7.5 Gallon tank combo. Came with the "A" tube and 20' of clear line. Upgraded to the "C" tube and UV resistant line. Tank/Pump is sitting on my workbench in my garage...

    New user of pH meter

I have the TFP pH meter also and like you are not quite convinced that it's accurate. Mine also reads high as compared to the drop test. After use, I rinse with distilled water and dry and then recap.

Daily water test in evening or morning?

I test/dose the pool in the evening, let the water mix for 30 minutes and turn the pump off. Full FC level at night should give any algae a kick to the head, before the sun's UV comes into play.

Adding cal hypo 73% - how?

Wow - conflicting answers, which one is the OP to follow?

Moving ... from Newark, DE to Allen, TX - any pointers for a Texas pool owner?

If you are handy-capable, you can make your own pool chillers. It's just PVC piping with holes drilled. I'm fine tuning some that I'll be using in place of bubblers on my tanning deck.

Went into the pool store to buy my liquid chlorine

Yes, Yes they are... that's where I buy my Liquid Chlorine from, in their 2.5 Gal containers.

    New Pool Owner in Houston

We waited a decade to have a pool installed, but it was worth the wait! Had the pool built over the winter months, hoping for a Spring Break opening that the grandkids could enjoy. Didn't happen due to weather delays, but we are so enjoying the water now. The addition of the Pavilion...

    Liquid Chlorine Automation?

Think I’m going to go with a Stenner E10T2B pump/timer combo. Will I be able to plumb it into my Pentair in-line chlorinator?

    Pentair VSF programming question

I have the Pentair VSF also - after I'm finished with a manual program selection, I hit the Start/Stop twice. First to stop the current program and then to reset to whatever program is scheduled.

    Liquid Chlorine Automation?

PB talked us out of using SWCG - stated it's tough on environment (plants, landscape materials, furniture).

    Liquid Chlorine Automation?

Has anyone attempted to use the Pentair Intellichlor tank w/pump independent of the Intellichem system? I'm investigating ways to get the LC into the pool without manual addition.

    Confused in Seattle

One of the variables introduced by pool store testing is lighting. From what I have read in this forum, CYA testing should be done outside, with your back to the sun. Not going to happen in the pool store.

How many umbrellas do you use ?

Currently have a 10 x 14 Pavilion and two umbrellas (round table & tanning deck). Will probably be fabricating a couple of rolling planters with umbrellas from oak half-barrels.

For those of you with grass at or close proximity to pool edge ---

Grass clippings in the pool is a definite pain. I try to limit the amount by weed eating the edge first, then stopping and taking the leaf blower to the deck to blow it all back out into the yard. Continue on with the mowing, using a rear-discharge, bagged mower. Every other weekend I'll spray...

    Concrete deck is too hot!

☝ - This. We use water shoes also, not that our deck is too hot (KoolDeck), but the Pebble Sheen finish in the pool can be rough after a while.
