Your air in Houston is far more detrimental to all those things. Stuff dissolves because of the humidity and swamp.
 
If you have the Intellichem tank and pump, you can certainly use it, but it would be a lot more economical to buy a complete Stenner system. You can DIY all of it using a peristaltic pump of your choice and a drum/car boy, or you can buy a tank and pump already assembled, or you can use what you have and buy what you need.
 
If you ever plan on using that feeder again it's not safe to plumb the injection into it. Just keep in mind that someone could add tablets to the feeder if at some time you're not available for some reason.

I'd inject it downstream of the feeder.
