QUICK RESPONSE NEEDED - POWER OUT POOL NOT TOTALLY FILLED!!!!

What a bummer! Glad it all worked out. I guess here in the southeast hurricane land it's a must to have a generator. It comes in handy for many reasons.

    New Build Plumbing Pressure Test

Yes, I think so. The hose bibb is still in place at one of the skimmers and the returns are still all capped. The pump and filter have been set but can't I just turn the valves to closed and repressurize the lines and see what happens? This is my first pool so I have no idea really.

    New Build Plumbing Pressure Test

We just had our plumbing completed on our new pool build. I've been watching the gauge set by the plumber and it went from 22 psi to 15 psi in about a days span. Then down to under 10 psi the next day. I've searched but couldn't find a clear requirement for testing. Should the pressure hold...

    Excavation How bad is it?

Thank you all for the replies. Our areas has had very little rain and is unusually dry. Of the seven well points installed, one only is pumping very little water. The sub used our hose bibb to put some water in the bottom of the dig so he could jet the well points. I failed to mention my...

    Excavation How bad is it?

My PB is in the middle of the excavation. I have some real concerns about the dig. There have been walls collapsing, the perimeters layout and the 6' sunshelf have been over-dug and overall looks to be sloppy work. How concerned should I be?

    New In Ground Shotcrete Pool

Thanks for all the help so far. We were supposed to start Monday but after laying out the pool using some tarps in the back yard we decided it was just too small and have increased the size of the pool to 27x20 and reducing the tanning ledger to 6' instead of the 8'. The swim area will now be...

New Pool Build in North Austin, TX

It seems in my reading many people would add more lights if they could do it over again. You might want to consider one on your tanning ledge.

    New In Ground Shotcrete Pool

I have a question about SWG. We are getting the IC20 which is rated for 20K gallons the pool will end up being a little more than 11K. The pool builder said I can do the IC 40 for the same price, but the IC 20 is best and doesn't want to over chlorinate the pool with the IC40. It sounds like...

    New In Ground Shotcrete Pool

Kim, I'm afraid 4' will be too deep. Our youngest is 7 and although growing quickly he is under 4' now and lots of younger cousins we want to keep the shallow end 3'6. This was coming up from 3' the wife wanted initially. I'm also wondering if we could make the shallow end 6' instead of 9' so...

    New In Ground Shotcrete Pool

Got the latest plan back from the builder with the skimmers and returns placed. I'm most torn about the deep end depth. I wanted the depth because the kids love jumping into the pool and I figured the deeper the better. I want to go as deep as possible, but looking that there will only be 6' of...

    New In Ground Shotcrete Pool

Thank you all so much for the advice. I'm not having any luck convincing the wife to recess the steps into the tanning ledge, but I'm really liking the idea so will continue to plant the seed. PB has pulled the permit and I'm working on running the feeder to where the equipment will be set...

    New In Ground Shotcrete Pool

Chris thanks for the reply. I'll get model numbers for sure. Yes, the stub is just a penetration pipe that can be plumbed for a future suction cleaner if desired. The PB is providing a Pentair 920 Kreepy Crawler robot for cleaning.

    New In Ground Shotcrete Pool

The sitting area is a great idea!!! We did toy with the idea of in-setting the steps into the ledge to create this kind of area. We plan on getting the ledge loungers and table that will accept an umbrella that can be moved around to our desired area of the tanning ledge. Her idea on the...

After three months of interviewing pool builders, learning and getting quotes, we finally have a signed contract with a very reputable pool builder for a 20x24 in ground shotcrete pool. I'm really thankful for this forum and the expert insight and knowledge already gained from this site. Please...
