I just thought of something....if you use a pool cover that just goes around the top of the pool what do you cover the skimmer with??

Well sadly my water never gets over 80 because of trees that block the sun. Hopefully those will be coming down before swimming season even starts next year lol I figure mine is around 70 so guess I need to wait a little longer huh? Need to also make sure all debris is out before closing too right?

I did have a leak that was making my test results out of wack. I looked all over the pool a thousand times and couldn't find it until the other night my boyfriend found a little bit of water leaking out of the pump. He tightened it and now we are leak free. I think I will be needing to close...

I have found the leak. It was in a connection part of the pump. I now think I will be needing to close the pool soon because it's almost winter time here. My test results tonight were.... FC- 5 CC - 0 PH 7.6 CYA - 40 Are there results good enough to close down the pool for the year? I'm asking...

I put stabilizer in but I just put it directly in the skimmer. It that not a good idea?

I've tried numerous times to find it and I can't. I've looked up and down the pool everywhere. It must be so small you can't see it. I don't know how else to find it.

So I think I have a pin hole somewhere in my pool because I have been losing a good amount of water over a few day period and I have looked the pool up and down and I can't find it but since I have noticed the water disappearing I have been having to put new water in to keep it above the skimmer...

I'm looking at the expiration dates on my test kits and most of them are March and May of 2020. Are these supplies good for any period of time after their expiration date or should I buy new ones before I even open my pool next year?

I have trees around mine too. Sadly only get about 2 hours of sun a day on mine. But next spring I'm hoping to have the money to get them cut down.

Okay so I checked them both again this morning and they are both still the same so I didn't lose anything over night but the CC is still reading 1 but I guess since I didn't lose any overnight that it's okay right?

So last night I tested my FC and CC and my CC was .5 and tonight it's 1. I know it's supposed to be .5 but can it be 1 and there not be any problems or does it mean he it's anything over .5 there's a problem?

All the alge was BEFORE I did the SLAM this past weekend. So are you saying because the CC is 1 is season enough to do the SLAM process again?

So the weekend before last I was out of town and then came home only to get sick and needless to say my poor pool got neglected and this part Saturday I finally started feeling better and realized just how much. It was getting cloudy and had some dead leaves in it, a couple spots of green stuff...

I finally got my CYA up to 40. That's good right? What things would cause CYA to go up or down? How often do you need to test for it?

We did the same thing the other day just wondering if we did it right. My pool had 3 holes. One hole is above the other two holes. We put the skimmer on the hole that is the highest up and I'm just wondering if that goes into the in or out part on my sand filter.

I've been using powdered stabilizer to try to raise my CYA a little bit and since my pool doesn't have a skimmer I don't think it really circulates the water all that well and so I'm worried because when I add the powdered stabilizer it sinks to the bottom so I'm wondering if there is a liquid...

Looking at the one you got and I know this question will sound stupid but what do you hook the other end of the hose to?

Yeah that's cool but I am by far NOT at all that talented. I could NEVER do that. Guess we will have to do without a skimmer on this pool. And hope I can figure out how to get a vacuum that doesn't take a skimmer to work. Thanks.

When testing CYA it says to add water uhl you can't see the dot anymore. Well is it until you can't see the dot at all or just until it's cloudy and you can't see it clearly?

Yeah but how would you attach it. Especially to a vinyl pool???

Tried to install a skimmer on the new pool and it won't work. It has to have things to screwy it on to and mine don't. Look at the attached picture. It shows what mine looks like.

Also what is calcium chloride? It says I need to add some of that and I don't think I ever needed that last year so I don't know what it is or where to get it.

I know you can't add muriatic acid with other chemicals so I'm wondering how long after adding MA do you need to wait to add other chemicals? And also not counting MA can you add other chemicals at the same time like bleach and stabilizer? If not how long should you wait between those two? Thanks
