Repair or replace - Dolphin Deluxe 4 with failed power supply, probably six years old

Nope, like I said most Dolphins will run on most models of Dolphin power supplies out there.

Repair or replace - Dolphin Deluxe 4 with failed power supply, probably six years old

I have seen where the PCB in the power supply dies and the Dolphin throws an "Out Of Water" code, meaning the robot thinks it is not in the pool. Depending on the power supply if this can be replaced or not, and more often than not the part is most of the cost of a used power supply so up to you...

    Irobot Mirra 530

It's a private label Aquabot Rapids 4WD. I'm honestly not a fan of the design. The cartridges are flimsy and don't fit right after a year or two, they are also very prone to cable and power supply failure. Basically the only halfway decent component is the motor, and I've still replaced a few of...

Repair or replace - Dolphin Deluxe 4 with failed power supply, probably six years old

This is correct. For the most part, all Dolphins run off of the same 24VDC. I have 20 year old Dolphins running off of brand new pawer supplies and when our demo S50's power supply got kicked in a pool we started sending it out with a 16 year old Diagnostic power supply. Running a DX4 on a DX5...

    Dolphin Diagnostic quit

With the unit out of the pool and upside down, turn it on and see if it starts up and that both motors turn on and test cycle. If you are getting power enough to test cycle it than 9 times out of 10 the power supply and cable are good. Also while it is test cycling out of the water try moving...

    Can anyone identify this Aquabot?

That's just a regular old Aquabot, no designation other than that. It's actually from before they gave these the "Classic" designation (meaning from before Fluidra bought Aqua Products). If I had to guess this unit is roughly 7-10 years old. These were pretty reliable and I still have plenty of...

    Dolphin Nautilus died...

You should see 24-30V between pins 2 (positive) and 3 (negative) if the power supply is working properly. There is also a tool Maytronics sells that it more or less an LED light on a stick that tells you if the power supply is working. If the power supply is turning on my bet is the cable...

As if we didn't have enough reasons not to buy Aquabot...

I nearly burned down my store troubleshooting one today. Video was taken after it already caught fire once, for posterity's sake. The angry pixies tried to escape. Long story short, don't invest in Aquabot, kiddos. EDIT: Direct linking video because I can't make the YouTube function work...

    m500- partially running- impeller problem

It could have just been a seized bearing that you freed up. Very rarely are you able to do that successfully but it happens once in a blue moon.

    Dolphin Diagnostics power lead

A far as I can tell it's standard cord. Just make sure you're using a wire of equivalent gage if you're going to swap it out for a generic one.

    m500- partially running- impeller problem

Remove it from the water, flip it upside down, turn it on and see if it test cycles. It should cycle the pump motor, then cycle both drive motors back and forth the same way, then back and for the opposite way. If it turns on at all you know you are getting power, so more than likely the motor...

    Pool Cleaner Power?

It's advised by most manufacturers to not use an extension cord. The voltage drop across it means less input voltage to the transformer which means less volts available to the cleaner, which may lead to issues. I've had some customers get away with 10' or 25' cords and be fine though. Anything...

Is the control box for my Dolphin waterproof?

They have gaskets for basic water resistance, yes. However water ingress on anything that is affected by electronics heat cycling is almost inevitable. Plus the socket for the amphenol plus isn't waterproof at all. Better safe than sorry, so don't leave it out if rain is in the forecast.

    Dolphin S50 or E10

The E10 and S50 are basically the same cleaner, just one is designated for online sale and the other is for retail stores. You'll probably pay more for the S50 but you get an additional year of warranty, that't about it.

Pool Robots causing damage to vinyl liners? Is this true?

Yeah I should probably restate my position. In my experience I've only seen robots with broken parts that have sharp plastic puncture a liner. However I have seen some pretty lazy deburring operations on parts for more recent cleaners from many different companies were I could see them putting...

Broken bottom on Dolphin Oasis Z5

I have made videos int he past on how to disassemble and reassemble Dolphins and Aquabots however it wouldn't be of much help to you. I should probably make another one for newer style Dolphins.

Broken bottom on Dolphin Oasis Z5

You'll basically need to strip every other part off the robot but it can be replaced. The part that it broken is the actual frame. This is the part you are probably getting: Maytronics Dolphin 9980882 Frame | Marina Pool Spa & Patio You'll have to start with removing the cartridge doors, which...

    Pool Cleaner Repair

Sorry, I know basically nothing about these suction side cleaners beyond ensuring the filter system is working properly at the right pressures and ensuring the hoses aren't leaking in some way. When you say it doesn't move, does it not do anything or does it do all the motions it's supposed to...

    Aquabot breeze 4wd dead

Oh, nice! If that's the case then the first replacement power supply was probably bad in some way as well, happens to new ones out of the box even. I'm not trying to prove any points or prop myself up here so no hard feelings, I just know I sell the more generic power supplies to customers all...

    Aquabot breeze 4wd dead

There are "programs" in the power supply but nothing beyond simple cycle timers and weekly timers typically. The actual program for the cycle is in the unit. Though a dead unit is a dead unit, no point arguing about semantics.

    Aquabot breeze 4wd dead

If replacing the power supply didn't work something is wrong with the robot. Any power supply from Aquatron should work. What made you think it was the power supply to begin with? Did it just not turn on?

    Dolphin active 20/Proteus-DX3 Cleaning walls?

Okay, probably the motor going out then. Just want to make sure, sometimes it's an easy fix but not this time.

    Dolphin active 20/Proteus-DX3 Cleaning walls?

Side tracking a bit but what do you mean by your Aquabot Turbo "runs a few seconds and stops"? Do both motors run then both just die after a few seconds? Or does only one motor run? From what I can see the Proteus DX3 is closer to an S50/E10/Active 10. The Discovery is pretty much the same as...

    Dolphin Controller waterproofing

No robot power supply is totally waterproof. Water is such a small molecule that water ingress is more or less inevitable especially with electrical components that heat cycle. Try to keep it away from moisture as much as possible.

    Hayward tigershark

In all my years working on Dolphins and Tigersharks I have literally never needed to replace those. Are yours broken/bent that badly?

    Aquabot breeze 4wd dead

If it has the same plug socket it should work. The actual cycle programming is in the robot's motor box, the power supply just adds features like cycle time control/delay timer. They all have the same voltage out.

    Dolphin Deluxe Starts then Stops!!!

Could be any number of things from something stuck in the tracks to a whole motor replacement. No real way of knowing without plugging it into a scanner and reading the codes or blindly start replacing parts. Typically if it makes it as long as 90 seconds it thinks it's out of water for whatever...

    SmartPool Climber NC51

Sounds electrical. Either something is jamming up a motor and preventing it from running or there's some sort of break in the cable causing it to stop/start.

    Dolphin DX4 Power Supplies

The amphenol plug and socket used on the Dolphins is not proprietary technology, so they just happen to only use 2 of the 4 pins. The panel doesn't completely light up on your specific model because those features are probably locked out on the DX-4, though I'd consult the user manual or the...

How to Properly Clean Robot Filters

Aside from spraying out with the hose. Bags: Washing machine, cold cycle, no or light soap. Filters: Spray cartridge cleaner. I've also had some customers tell be about baking soda/vinegar based cleaning or hydrogen peroxide based cleaning, no details though. Something with some sort of...
