Rusty Pool Cage Bolts Causing staining?

We will be replacing the cage but if the rusty bolts aren't likely to cause staining on my new pool surface then that project can wait a bit.

Rusty Pool Cage Bolts Causing staining?

Crushed Vitamin C or citric acid doesn't take out the stains. My main question is ... Is it possible for rain water dripping off of rusty bolts to stain a pool?

Rusty Pool Cage Bolts Causing staining?

I'm noticing the bolts in the main beams for the screen enclosure over the pool are rusting. My concern is that these rusting bolts are contributing to the many stains in my pool. I will be having my 34 year old fiberglass pool refinished shortly and if these rusty bolts dripping down on my...

How much water is in a Circupool RJ30+ cell?

Thanks, I'll try that next time.

How much water is in a Circupool RJ30+ cell?

For the entire 5 months, the CSI has always been on the negative side.( -.1 to -.35 )

How much water is in a Circupool RJ30+ cell?

I also keep the CSI negative but this is how it looked at 5 months. Guess I will change my maintenance schedule to 3 months.

How much water is in a Circupool RJ30+ cell?

Cleaned it today. The numbers on the display are back to normal. Before cleaning, it was displaying about 1000 ppm lower than actual testing of the water in the pool. Now it's back to within 100-200 ppm of actual testing. FYI, the cell holds 34-35 ounces of liquid filled to the top, so 28 oz...

How much water is in a Circupool RJ30+ cell?

I'm seeing some calcium deposits on the plates so I'm going to clean my RJ30+ for the first time since installing it 5 months ago. I want to mix the acid solution beforehand but don't know how much water the cell holds. My guess is about 2 quarts. Does anyone know for sure. Also the manual says...

    Bonding wire on SWG

    Very informative video, thank you!

    Bonding wire on SWG

I heeded all your warnings. Bonding wire is now installed. I remember back in 1992 when the pool was installed, it failed inspection because of a bonding wire issue and I'm almost positive they drove a copper spike in the ground then connected a wire to the spike, handrail and pump motor in...

    Bonding wire on SWG

Thank you John T , I think I now understand that bonding and grounding are two different animals. I'm going to get the materials I need and do that job today.

    Bonding wire on SWG

The voltage that goes to the plates that actually touch the pool water is about 21-22 volts. Can that really hurt you?

    Bonding wire on SWG

Thank you. I guess I just don't understand the difference between the ground wire which is hooked up and grounded in the electrical panel that the SWG is connected to and the bonding wire. Can someone explain that to me please.

    Bonding wire on SWG

I installed my SWG back when Covid first started and I didn't want to go into the store to get the material I needed to do the bonding wire. I thought it's about time to finish that job but was wondering how important is bonding for a SWG? If it is important please explain why.

What do the voltage/amp readings tell to you about the system

Per Circupool for the RJ30+ ; the voltage should be between 21 and 27 and the amps between 2.5 and 7.8 when generating chlorine. My pool is about 90* and the voltage is at 21.5 and amperage at 4.75. My SWG is only about a month old, should I be concerned about my voltage being at the lowest end...

What do the voltage/amp readings tell to you about the system

My system is working fine and the voltage/amp readings are within what circupool says they should be but I'm curious what those readings actually tell you. Do they tell you anything about the condition of the cell or the amount of salt in the pool? How do you use those readings to diagnose problems?

    Does salt change your water?

I noticed the same thing after converting to salt. Thought it was just me but then my wife commented on it also. My water is now so clear it almost looks fake.

Calling all CircuPool RJ series owners, need you real world experiences

My pool is about 9500 gallons with sun most of the day, heated by solar to 92*. Installed a RJ30+ about a month ago. Running my pump 9 hours/day and the SWG at 25-30% is providing me with between 5 and 7.5 ppm FC. Salt readings on the unit are also way low compared to manual testing. Unit runs...

Hayward Super 2 Pump drain plug size

Thank you, you're correct, it is 1/4 NPT but I'm actually not looking for the plug. I want to build an auto acid dosing system (similar to mas985) and want to use that port along with a needle valve to siphon a 5 to 1 acid mixture into the pool when the pump is running. I needed to know what...

Hayward Super 2 Pump drain plug size

I thought so too but it's definitely not 1/4 inch NPT. As you can see by the picture the OD of the plug is about 7/16. The OD of 1/4 pipe is just over a half inch? This pump is about 10 years old.

Does anyone know what size and type of thread the drain plug is in the front of a 3000 series Hayward Super 2 pump?

    Preferred valve actuator brand

Would you recommend the Jandy brand over Intermatic or Hayward?
  26. D

    Preferred valve actuator brand

Yes I've replaced them on other actuators but the problem isn't that the actuator isn't stopping in the correct position, it's that it simply doesn't work at all until that little switch on the side is moved back and forth. It would seem like the problem is that outside switch not the micro...

    Preferred valve actuator brand

Using it to control a solar heating system. Been noticing sometimes it doesn't come on or go off when the solar controller tells it to. If I flip the switch on the side back and forth it will then start to work.

    Preferred valve actuator brand

I have a two year old 24 volt Intermatic Jandy valve actuator that is slowly but surely going bad. Previously had a Jandy brand actuator that lasted over 20 years. Are the Jandy brand actuators more reliable than the Intermatics or was this just bad luck? What brands are the preferred/most...

Problem with Circupool RJ30 and solar heat.

Thank you Mark. The amount of pool knowledge on this message board is incredible. I will take your advice and try it for awhile.

Problem with Circupool RJ30 and solar heat.

About 8 feet above the filter gauge to the bottom of the panels, about 20 feet to the top of the panels. Don't know if this matters but there's also about 75 feet of underground pipe to get over to the panels from the filter. ( 150 feet with supply and return piping combined)
