    Maintaining SWG Chlorine Levels

Hello, So my current readings: FC 4 pH 7.8 TA 80 CYA 60 CH 350 Salt 3200 Temp 81 CSI 0.02 Taylor K-2006 Complete So from the chart I think I want my FC around 7? I've gotten it as high as 5.5. I've cleaned my IC40 and it looks good. Everything I've stated here is running my SWG at full, (5...

    Salt Level Instabilities Questions

Ok, thank you guys! It's early, I haven't had coffee yet. It just took me typing my testing steps down for you to realize I forgot to multiply the the drops by two. 17x2=3400. Doh, much better. Thank you as always for your time and patience. I'm going to stick my head in the pool now, lol. Mike

    Salt Level Instabilities Questions

I'm using the Taylor K-2006 Complete (FAS-DPD chlorine) Kit. It's what I learned on so I'm comfortable with it.

    Salt Level Instabilities Questions

Hello Friends, I have read a couple Fourm discussions and want to confirm what I think I have read. Yesterday my pool temp was 70 degrees Fahrenheit and my salt levels were 2000 steady after 3 tests. We've had some heavy rains this season and I haven't added any salt for a couple years. The...

    What is this.....any clue?

Ya, right. I understand. No I have never added any algecide or odd additives. I had to shock my pool once, but only liquid professional pool chlorine and have never had any problems since. Thanks

    What is this.....any clue?

Thank you, no I maintain my pool myself thanks to you all, I’ve got it down pretty good. I have been using my spa most nights during COVID so it’s getting a lot of use. I will pull my generator out this weekend and give it another cleaning. I’ve never used anything for copper as I’ve not noticed...

    What is this.....any clue?

Hello all, So I found these small pieces of debris on my step just under the eyeball diverter in my pool. I assume it was flushed from the system. There are no chips or scaling on my walls or floor, my CSI is .02 and all my tests are well with in range. I checked and cleaned my salt...

Yeah I have my FIRST algae bloom! IE: Looking forward to a learning experience!

Just an update note to remind you guys you're awesome! Here's a shot of my pool today. All my measurements are solid except my CYA (50) but I'm working on bringing that up right now. Along with a deep pool cleaning I'm excited to get to swimming. Temp still a little chilly, water temp=62°f but...

CSI level. Understanding the chemistry and help balancing.

I'm in the exact same position. I was playing around with the Pool Math Calculator last night and realized as I brought up the water temp in the equation the CSI balanced out to a good range. That's why I'm reading these CSI threads to understand how it works. This site is awesome. Michael

Low CSI but I think numbers for tests look reasonable

Wow, Thanks! This is such great information. It's always been tough for me to "feel" like I got an accurate CYA because my technique seemed unsure, unclear. This is a rock solid testing method. Thanks Michael

No Liner, SWG w/Plaster. I dont have that test, I feel confident the CL will drop pretty quickly and I should be able to manage the balance if I stay on it. (Which I will) Thanks, Michael

OK, I think I'm ready to button this up. The morning of day 8 my OCLT finally passed. Tested exactly the same this morning as last night. 0 CL loss. CC tested 0, and my water is clear. So I'll start letting CL drop to normal levels then re activate the SWG and balance CYA and should be good...

Yeah I have my FIRST algae bloom! IE: Looking forward to a learning experience!

Good morning from the clear blue waters of L.A. Day 7 of the SLAM. First night I've lost no FC. I figure run that a few more days to make sure? I will be losing Clorine during the sunny days but I'm really just concerned that it maintains my SLAM levels that I set in the early evening to...

Hello, So water was looking good, still the at the end of our 4th day of the SLAM I have finally lost some FC: from 22 this AM to 16 this PM. I've added an appropriate amount of Chlorine and will test again in an hour. So still staying diligent. Still staying positive. Still grateful for this...

Ok, Here the latest on my SLAM Water is turning clear(er) blue. I can now see the bottom of my pool but still cloudy. My FC been holding @ 20-22 for the last two days. I am running my SWG 100% during the SLAM. I was wondering if I should lower it to see if my FC drops or if I should be running...

Morning, Thanks all, Ya, I'm happy things are going good. Took a reading this morning and a solid FC of 21 still. Should be a full day of sunlight so I'll do a reading when I get home from work. Thanks again everyone, enjoy your day. Michael
