Maytronics cord - how tough/easy to replace?

I have a 2020 Triton PS Plus and the device for keeping the cord from twisting is not longer working. And with my cleaning staying in the pool (It cleans everyday at 5AM), the cord is getting "grungy". Amazon has the correct cord for $299. Anyone replaced their own cord?

How long have your cartridge filters lasted?

I have 2 sets of filters, but one set is cheapos that do not fit perfectly (Excel). Good enough for quick swap while I do a major filter cleaning. I looked up on Amazon to price another set of exactly what I'm normally running. PLEATCO PA106, which is the filter for a Hayward 4025 filter. Almost...

    TA drops, but rebounds

Still working to get my TA down. I started by reducing my TA using the Muriatic Acid method. I started at 90 and was able to reduce it to 65-70. The procedure in Pool School says to aerate. But later wisdom from the Forum says that aerating is not generally needed. I pulled my aeration method...

SWG and Spa bubbler, Hydrogen and Air

I was looking at the aeration threads to raise pH thread and looking at some videos on raise pH using aeration. One suggested using the spa bubblers. I can turn mine on even in pool mode. But then a horrible thought. I am mixing air into my pool lines while the SWG is making chlorine gas and...

    Price of Chemicals

I bought a bit of Liquid Chlorine and Muriatic Acid probably 3 months ago. I went online to check availability of Muriatic Acid at Home Depot. Holy Cow! $18 for 2 gallons! When did the price go up that much? I know I only use about a quart per week, but wow!

What is the weirdest thing to come through your pipes?

About 5 years ago, I replaced my pump with a Variable Speed Pump. When it primes, it runs at full speed (3450 RPM) and a lot of power (2000+ Watts). Exactly 5 years ago, I was cleaning out the trash basket in front of the pump and found this! What is the weirdest thing that went through your...

    Salt Water pools and Sandstone/Flagstone

I converted my pool 2 years ago to a Saltwater pool. I keep the salt between 2800-3000 ppm. I keep the CSI slightly negative, and I run about 30-50 ppm Borates. I am not experiencing any more (or less) sandstone/flagstone deterioration than before converting. My "flagstone" has been...

    Improved CYA sock method

My thumb fingers first wrote "sick method" Anyway. I have an extremely fine hand skimmer. The mesh is setup to collect tiny bugs or other fine particles from the surface. This is why you DO NOT use splashless chlorine bleach.

This is why you DO NOT use splashless chlorine bleach. I was filling the base for my parasol and added some bleach to prevent algae forming in the base-water. I just pulled a bottle of bleach from the laundry. Poured some into the base while filling with water. It got a little foamy.

So I have two Maytronics Robots now....

I bought a Triton PS Plus but one of my buddies moved to a house without a pool so I inherited his Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus. CYA - How long to dissolve sitting on the bottom of the pool?

I put CYA in an old Polaris bag and hang it in front of my hot tub outlet. It usually dissolves in a few hours. But... The bag was old and weak and tore and a mess dropped to the pool floor. Any idea how long it will take to dissolve just sitting there? Too cold to get down to it....

    AA Treatment abort

I've been in the process of getting ready for my AA treatment. I turned off the SWG. FC down to 3.0 today. pH is off the scale so did an acid demand test and added a gallon of MA. Looked at the weather forecast, several days dropping to 32-35F over night. I need my regular pumps running for...

    CYA is gone

OK, I've been remiss in checking my levels. Last time I checked CYA was Aug 12th. Today I was doing some checks before leaving on a trip. Water temp is 51F and the SWG is in "cold" mode (Hayward produces to ~50F). With it being off, I decided to do a basic run on my tests. FC is 8.0, pH is 8.2...

    AA & "Bypassing the heater"

I'm reading through the AA threads and just noticed that bypassing the heater is now considered a thing. For me to do this, I think I would have to build a fixture.
