Has anyone heard of this type of Pool Enclosure I have? Starting to decay (Manufacturer should've realized metal and water don't mix)

Excellent! Thank you for this information. I had no idea they were still building these. In retrospect, I think mine is also steel-walled with a concrete base... probably near the 30 yr mark now. Either way I'm hoping it can be repaired when the next liner goes in.

Has anyone heard of this type of Pool Enclosure I have? Starting to decay (Manufacturer should've realized metal and water don't mix)

"Are you referring to inground steel pool walls that are behind your liner?" Yes, the whole container is made out of metal and can only be used with vinyl liners. No one I've talked to has come in contact with one of these. The only comment was that it would "do well in an earthquake".

Has anyone heard of this type of Pool Enclosure I have? Starting to decay (Manufacturer should've realized metal and water don't mix)

Hi... Here in SoCal, we have a 16'x30' in-ground Metal pool enclosure that was designed for vinyl liners. 4' Shallow end with a steep drop off to a 10' Deep end. In 2010, it had rust forming around the skimmer intake with corroded stainless screws. I replaced those and did what I could to stop...

1990s American Products R-500 BC Pool Light... Would like to find a complete LED replacement now

Hi, Over the years, I've tried twice to install a screw-in LED pool light into this fixture using new gaskets each time. Within a day or two, the fixture fills up with water and when turned on, the light is toast. I think the fixture is just too old to work with anymore. I know Pentair took...

New Pool Light Burned Out immediately... I'm assuming it was my fault?

Ok, well I finished reattaching the housing after sanding the lip with 400 grit sandpaper. I used some waterproofing sealent around the gasket once it was tightened down and let that dry overnight. This time I also used a different area for the bolt/washer/nut combination and it seemed to...

New Pool Light Burned Out immediately... I'm assuming it was my fault?

Good tips... thanks (y). The washer idea is great! The gasket is correct. I checked with another company. After the work, I'll run an underwater test overnight before attaching it to the sidewall. Glad your system is working now.

New Pool Light Burned Out immediately... I'm assuming it was my fault?

Hi... I recently changed my pool light from a 500w incandescent to a 50w LED. I ordered a new round Hayward seal and tightened it down to what I thought was satisfactory. I returned the light to the sidewall, turned it on and everything was good.. actually better than the old light. The next...

Could someone identify this model of Aquaslide?

The company made different models. I'm just looking to find out which one this is so I can research it's origins and possibly date it.

Could someone identify this model of Aquaslide?

Hi... moved into this home and it came with a fiberglass slide that has "Aquaslide, Brownsville, TX" printing on its underside. Currently non-operational, it's in pretty decent shape. However, we may not keep it since we're older and it's a bit of a distraction. I'd rather see a family benefit...

Advice on setting up usage of a new Variable Speed pump

Hi, In an effort to save AC costs this Summer, I ordered a Pentair Variable Speed pump. Fortunately, my home came with a Motorized Vinyl Pool Cover so I usually don't have any debris on the pool surface. The Pentair pump uses a factory setting that initially runs at 3000 rpm for the first 2...

Converting to Variable Speed pump... Is my Suction-Type Cleaner still viable?

Ok great... thanks Since these have there own timing system, will my Intermatic mechanical clock timer just be set to run continually?

Converting to Variable Speed pump... Is my Suction-Type Cleaner still viable?

Hi... I have a Hayward Navigator suction-type cleaner that still works well. I generally run it every three days. Now however, I'd like to replace my Pool Pump Motor with a Variable Speed unit (Century VGreen or other) to save AC costs. I'm wondering, because of the lower RPM, if these suction...

Can I change this copper line to PVC?

Thanks but we don't have a heater. We have a blue Coverstar retractable cover that heats the water sufficiently during the summer here in California. We're not year long swimmers. Thanks for the heads-up though :)

Can I change this copper line to PVC?

Ok then, thanks. Yes it's copper coming through the slab so a compression fitting sounds good. The original system is probably 30 years old and they ironically used 2" PVC on the incoming lines coming through the same slab. Weird?

Can I change this copper line to PVC?

Hi... got a leak coming from one of my copper elbows on the return filter line. I'm wondering if I HAVE to use copper to replace it, or can I run 1.5" PVC pipe with new fittings? The return coming up from the ground is copper so I'd have to find a "copper to PVC" elbow. Otherwise, any reason...

Recommend an LED light for my pool?

Just found my pool to have a burned out 120 volt 500w screw-in type bulb. I'd like to replace it with an LED White bulb... no colors The pool is 16x32 and the light sits in the deep end. Can anyone recommend a good quality LED? Thanks

Replacing a Pool Light in metal structured pool?

Hi, I have a 16x32 metal structure pool that was built for vinyl liners. I have to replace the pool light but I thought I'd check here before doing so. As you can see, the light housing is firmly sealed to the liner using a stainless steel plate, screws and gasket. The light itself uses a...
