    Help Understanding Valve Alignment

The way that I have the valves right now is so that I can get the spa to spill over into the pool with full force. It seems if I change any of the valves from the positions shown in the photo, the spillover stops. There is water coming into the hot tub return, I checked. Maybe I need to get my...

    Help Understanding Valve Alignment

I just had a new pool installed and my builder did not label the lines. He quickly told me but with everything going on, I retained very little. I know the valve on the left is for the pool skimmer and drain. I know the 3rd valve from the left is for the hot tub overflow. That is all that I...

    Vero Beach, FL Pool Build

Probably too late for consideration but I am doing an owner build in Orlando. I pulled the permits and friends in the business are doing things. There are companies out there who will help you find the contractors you need to do the work and you can save thousands to put towards all those nifty...

    Vero Beach, FL Pool Build

I am having a 16x32 pool built and I am getting 2 lights. I have seen 2 lights in another pool that is slightly smaller than mine and it does not seem like enough. My point, get at least 2 lights. I also have a robot vac but I am leaving the suction line so that I always have that option...

    Is Reducing Pool Depth OK?

I hear you on all this and I don't think 6k is excessive considering the price of concrete these days. I would ask, what is the worst case if it fails - do they destroy the pool floor so if this fails your pool is going to leak or does it just become "not so pretty" but the pool is still...

    Building a 25-yard pool?

There is another video of this build after a hurricane hit. I watched it long ago and still cannot get it out of my head. Both videos and their other videos are cool to watch! I watched just about every YouTube pool build video when my build started in November 22! Now, I just want it to finish...

    Building a 25-yard pool?

I love reading your post! The reason is, I am a swimmer and have waited 22 years to finally build my dream pool! I do not have the space available that you are discussing but I can get a 15x30 in and that's what I am doing. I too have no desire for fountains and the like but am putting in a sun...

    Liquidator low flow

I close the pump inlet valve slightly until I get the liquidator flow moving. Just a tiny nudge towards closed does the trick. Good luck

Upgraded ladder for 48” tall Coleman pool

Yep, that! I've had two (my fault) but the first one lasted several years.

Purchasing our first AGP from a dealer ; Getting mislead? Need input....(pics)

What would make me walk away is (and let's assume they are simply misinformed) if a problem arises down the road, how do you think they are going to handle it? I'm guessing, not well. Between Craiglist or whatever site is the "go to" or finding out who their installer is and getting with that...

New Intex pool user has questions

I had so many Intex pumps, hoses, etc, that I started collecting hose pieces in a box. I finally threw them out last year. I guess I should have sold them considering the prices. Wow.

    Heaters

I like the heater that is listed in my signature. It cost over a grand but it does the job. I bought it so that we could swim even when the solar was not effective. Then, I learned some things. The kids don't want to swim much beyond June (We often start in Jan/Feb( so no need to extend. Also...

    Solar cover recommendation??

I buy whatever I can afford, from wherever I can get it. That has never been Amazon. My last cover I spotted when I was walking around the neighborhood. I RAN home, got the car, and successfully completed my first curb garbage dive. They last a few years and then, the chlorine wins and the...

Can Anyone Tell Me What’s Going On?

I wouldn't drain the pool for wrinkles just accept it's good enough. I know it's hard. My pool store gave me a liner as an upgrade. It had a beautiful stone pattern. Well it did until it started to fade below the water line. If the water touched the liner, it faded. I thought it was something...

    Pump/Filter/Heater combination- NEED RECOMMENDATIONS PLEASE

I will leave flow calculations to the experts but I will always recommend my Hayward pump. It has run with a full strainer of water and it has run with barely any water. It just goes and goes and goes.

    Water is warming up nicely

85 and just in time too. The solar started leaking this week. I get to turn it off and let the Florida sun do the rest.

    Help!!! Sand filter gushing water

I second this. If the top is placed on the inside pipe and then seated flush against the filter (you will likely have to work it into place), the collar will go on very easy and then tighten the bolts. IF the collar does not go in easily, the top is not seated correctly.

    Is it worth it??

I had one of those and it never stayed straight. Yes, it helped but drove me crazy because always tipped to one side or the other. Then, one day, the handle broke and that was the end. Cheap enough to try though. (This is my first time back on the forum in about a year so I probably won't...

Get the bigger heater if you can. I debated a while and decided to spend the extra few hundred and I'm glad I did.

What is causing my daughter's fingertips to peel during and after swimming?

Could also be coincidental. The fact that they are painful would make me wonder if this is not at all related to the pool. Just my two cents.

What is causing my daughter's fingertips to peel during and after swimming?

People react differently to pools and chemicals sometimes. I have never had peeling fingertips but when I used to swim five days per week, one hour a day, a strange thing would happen to me. At least 3-4 times per week, after swimming for about 30 minutes, I would get a pain in my head that was...

    Automatic Pool Filler? Worth having?

Come to Florida this year. I have to drain at least 3-4 times per week for the last month due to all the rain we have been getting. I need to drain a good six inches right now. I guess I will take this over a hurricane though.

Soft spots around pool wall and stone issue

Did your installer add sand that is starting to shift or wash away? Either cut the Liner as has been suggested or just put a double patch over it and leave it. Because I did not know enough about drainage when my pool was installed, rain water goes under my pool, which has caused one of my...

Need tricks for removing horizontal bars in an Intex Ultra Frame pool

You have to pry the liner away from the bar. I just used my fingers and yes, it is tedious work. However, after you get the first few off, it does get easier. Pry with your finger and lots of wiggling the bar.
