Liquidator low flow

I just installed the Liquidator chlorine injection system. I can't get any flow when on the low setting, some flow on high. If I restrict skimmer flow, the LQ flow can max out when the pump is on high. If I install the supply tube directly into the pump drain plug will this help. I've read about installing another shutoff and restricting the flow from the skimmer that way to increase LQ chlorine flow. I have everything hard pipe plumbed with 2" pvc. The LQ supply tube is tapped between the skimmer and the shutoff. Had I known of the low flow issues, I would have installed the tap between the shutoff and the pump. I removed the check valves just to see what reading I would get. On low speed, no flow, on high 1-2. The LQ level is below pool water level, so I need the check valves. I'm looking for suggestions to increase flow, so I can run the pump on low speed. The pump is 1.0 hp, RPM,s 3450/1725. Also, is there another way to plug the 3/8" hole so I can move the supply tube, other than adding a coupler? I would rather not continue cutting more pipe without knowing what will work. Thanks for any suggestions.

LQ's (liquidators) have been known to have a flow issue on above ground pools, because of the low amount of suction head they have. Moving the injection point to the pump drain port probably won't help much if any. Restricting the skimmer flow with a valve is the most reliable way to increase flow through the LQ. It may not seem ideal, but it works well. The trick is to restrict it enough to get the required flow through the LQ but not so much as to negatively restrict the circulation of the pool too much.

Since you have the injection point between the skimmer and the block valve, you need to move the injection point to between the valve and the pump as you've already surmised. The easiest thing to do is get a threaded plastic plug and plug off the existing hole and then drill or cut a reducing tee in between the pump and valve.

I don't know if one of the big box home improvement stores will have plugs that small, but they're easy to find online.

Amazon has them, and you should be able to find them at a local plumbing store, or irrigation place, or local farm store. Even a big box store in the irrigation dept.
