used 2017 Dolphin M500, should I buy it?

Just comparing to what you can get a refurbished M400, the $825 M500 sounds reasonable if it is in good condition and works.

    Adjusting side return flow direction

That's the way mine are but my returns are not identical to yours. I would doubt you would have to squeeze them, but you could try that first before banging on it with a screwdriver :)

    Adjusting side return flow direction

Hard to tell from the picture, but on mine, the two tabs on the outside rotate clockwise (tighten) or counter-clockwise (loosen) to allow the "eyeball" to move freely or not. I sometimes have to use a flat blade screwdriver against one of the tabs and lightly tap the end of the screwdriver to...

Steps in Converting to a SWG pool

Take your picture above to your local hardware store (Ace, Home Depot, Lowes, etc), with the user manual here (Circupool 60k) if that is the one you are considering, and they can assist you with what you would need. You may want to have the dimensions for 10,11,12,13, and 14 so they know how...

Steps in Converting to a SWG pool

I would take out 11,12,13, and 14 and just plumb the SWG in that spot. Plenty of distance from the heater and get rid of stuff you don't need after you have the SWG. Ryan

Spa water level when in use

This picture is before mine was an automated valve, but this is the one they are referring too. To the left of the circled valve goes to the spa jets, right goes to the pool. If it isn't fully closing, some will go to the pool.

    New Maytronics Dolphin M600

I assume you could take it to any Maytronics dealer. The warranty is not through the store you bought it from. I bought mine through Margaret at Marina and they were great. Also free shipping and no tax which made it cheaper. One of the pool stores I called did the same to me and said they...

    New Maytronics Dolphin M600

There were two reasons I went with the M600, one was wifi control with extra modes, and the second was the more powerful suction motors. I borrowed one similar to the 30i from a friend and was disappointed when I had to get the net out, even after manually steering the bot over the items. The...

Auto fill for new pool consturction

Mine is a CMP 25504 water leveler. You can search it on Amazon and it comes up with it. Not sure if that is the cheapest place to purchase. Mine is installed next to the skimmer and is like the others, a bucket with a float valve.

    New Build - Rockwall, TX

My wife has been asking me to do something. Lighting is one of my specialties, but getting it under the waterfall is a different story. Thought about just using the little LED waterproof pucks inside there, but I'm lazy and wouldn't want to go in there to turn them on every night. This looks...

    New Build - Rockwall, TX

Very pretty. 6' on the deep end. We will have a no diving rule also. Of course I did a shallow "dive" after running yesterday to get refreshed :) It is interesting, pool builder said deep end would be "no man's land" for the most part, and so far people do gravitate toward seating and shallow...

    New Build - Rockwall, TX

We can jump. Diving not recommended. I always forget to start it up for picts. Will get a video of it and the spillway running and post an update.

    Pentair Intellicenter Question

That SSR is DC controlled, so you would have to either provide DC through the Pentair relay or control a AC/DC transformer with the Pentair relay if that makes sense. I also assume you will need a 3 phase relay, not just a relay that can handle 240VAC. Ryan

    Pentair Intellicenter Question

Interesting. I would measure the current used when you have it on (not the heater) to determine actual current draw of the blower motor, etc. If you are going to use wiring, etc that does not support the heater in the spa, then I would make sure and disable that functionality in the spa so it...

    Pentair Intellicenter Question

You can definitely control another contactor/relay that could handle the 50A load. You didn't indicate whether your spa was 120V or 240V, so just need to make sure you get a contactor that can handle what you need. Ryan

    Pentair Intellicenter Question

This is the relay on Amazon (I think this is the non-Pentair version, but Omron is the OEM I believe) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005T74294/?coliid=IMQ5DJTX9QUYI&colid=2YD9VZK65TE99&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it Indicates 25A. Update 2: Ignore again what I posted before. I would have @MyAZPool...

    Pentair Intellicenter Question

IC40 would be appropriate. You want at least double the volume, so the IC20 would probably be too small since you over the 10k point. Relays can be added pretty easily. Installation manual on Pentair site has part numbers for all the daughter boards and relays...

    New Maytronics Dolphin M600

I also own the M600. I think if you use Ultra Clean mode, it tends to go a little slower when moving, but I haven't measured to make sure. If you see it having issues running over and not picking up stuff, you may try the Ultra Clean mode to see if it helps. Although it probably wouldn't have...

    Pentair IntelliCenter Review and Information

Unfortunately I don't have his name. It may be written down at the office, but I probably will be working from home for a while. I will double check that I didn't write it somewhere else, but chances are slim. Ryan

    Pentair IntelliCenter Review and Information

AZ, can you check on the status of Google Home integration? The website says that IntelliCenter is supposed to work with Google Home. I called and talked to tech support at one point and he didn't even realize it was on the website. He supposedly sent a note to the IntelliCenter product...

Install Automation at Pool Build or Later?

Sorry, should have been clear, IntelliCenter and IC40 were installed as part of new build. I did add a breaker and conduit myself to the subpanel for extra patio wiring during the pool build also (with builder's permission). Even if I had to choose again, I probably would still have them do...

Install Automation at Pool Build or Later?

You can definitely install yourself afterward. You may want to check what they are including in the price however. I have the I8PS with IC40 and found it around $2700 online as a bundle. Just the I8PS was around $1900. Still at $2700, doing it yourself could save some money depending on...
