    IC60 stopped producing chlorine.. suggestions?

so this is my first summer with the pool here in DFW and everything was going fine chemistry-wise until recently. I'm running my pump 24/7 at a low speed, but enough to switch the SWG on and I've got it set to 95% now (it had been at 65% when behaving properly). Salt level per ScreenLogic was...

    Skippy's New Fountain

apologies for the thread bump but I had this earmarked as a DIY project for our first swim season in TX. anyone experiment with various sizes of PVC to see if it might increase the flow/height? I've got 1.5" coming from the pool returns and then tee'ed into one section with 3/4" and the other...

newbie help - white flakes on bottom of SWG pool?

thanks all.. the water itself is crystal clear thanks due in large part to this site. I'll drop the pH a bit as a first order of business and get some pucks going to raise the CYA some at the same time. looks like each puck will raise my CYA around 2ppm and poolmatch does have my CSI at around...

newbie help - white flakes on bottom of SWG pool?

first time with the pool this summer and noticed some small white flakes on the bottom/ledges of the pool near a return so I'm guessing they're coming from there. I do notice some white sandy-like stuff in the robot cleaner as well. A quick search looks like a combination of high TA/pH/CH might...

    air bubbles from one return?

we just filled the pool back in December for the first time and hadn't really noticed it until recently so maybe it's at the pump O ring. I'll double check to make sure it's nice and tight. we've got a pentair cartridge filter that we haven't messed with since the pool builder wrapped up. I'll...

    air bubbles from one return?

I've checked the O ring at the filter pump as well as the water level to make sure the skimmers aren't sucking in air and both look good but I've got air bubbles coming from one of the pool returns. any other ideas on what to check/troubleshoot? I've noticed it at a couple different returns but...

    Fire pit glass advice

we used Golden Flame fire glass (search amazon among others) and ordered right at 100 lbs to fill our fire pit (around 36" internal if I recall) with about 2-4" of glass. I need to take some pics of the completed pool and pit and will post shortly.

    ET transceiver - 10' max?

thanks guys. I'll look for some longer 4-wire cable and attempt to re-run.

    ET transceiver - 10' max?

I see in the Pentair manual that they recommend installing the outdoor transceiver at least 10' from the load center.. but then just provide you with just 10' of cable.. *shrugs* in any event, I've got 2 transceivers installed right above the load center (one for ScreenLogic and one for the...

    newbie seeking advice

read a bunch of here while waiting on our 6+ month build and we've had plaster for about 35 days now. PB has turned the keys over to us so we're in charge now. The SWG isn't doing anything in the winter now so we're chlorinating with some pucks that came with our startup for the moment. I've...

Bubbler Nozzles, finally found some to fix our lack luster bubblers!

anyone have any luck finding an online source for the CMP multi-tool (25590-250-000) that can be used to remove these shelf bubblers? We had 3 installed on our shelf but 1 of them is plumbed with the regular pool returns and I was wanting to put a regular pool return fitting on that one.

    ET8 - aux stopped working?

things were working fine yesterday and earlier this afternoon but now none of my assigned AUX appear to be functioning. the filter/pump is still running and when I hit the various AUX channels the red light comes on but the pool/spa light doesn't come on nor does the flood light and LV lights...

CH spiked - seeking root cause

had the hot tub filled up for about 2 months now and had it dialed it at the following: pH: 7.6 TA: 50 FC: 1-2 CH: 120 I'm still using granulated chlorine (came with our pool chemicals) and dry muratic acid to maintain FC and pH levels. When I test every 2-3 days depending on usage, I'll just...

PB came out yesterday and added some MA, chlorine pucks and calcium from what my wife said. Tested this morning as follows: FC: 1-2 pH: 7.2-7.4 TA: 150 CH: 240 we do a fair amount of streaking on the steps/walls but PB seemed to think that'll improve with the added MA and continual brushing. I...

I'll post some pics of the pool with water some time tomorrow. gonna get some initial readings done before adding the 2 chlorine pucks in the skimmer tomorrow per the PB instructions. yeah, the only real info I could find about how/when to use it was "and add during the first 500 gallons (2000 litres) of new fill water" from some documentation on their site. I went ahead and brushed/stirred it up tonight so it's not just sitting on the plaster.

the bottle of EasyCare Startup-Tec that the plaster guy poured in the bottom of the pool right as he was adding water appears to have still settled in on the bottom.. hopefully not staining the plaster but I'll for sure be taking a picture of it in the AM
