New RJ-30+ cell, zero amps, 28v, 0000 salinity?

I got the new control box hooked up and it seems to work. It generates and I see the bubbly haze in the cell. I am still feel like the cell is sub par in terms of FC production. I ran it for 3 hours it only raised my FC by 1. It should be closer to 2 according to pool math, although I know that...

New RJ-30+ cell, zero amps, 28v, 0000 salinity?

Yeah I’m not gonna mess with the breaker panel. The pump feeds off the same 220 circuit the SWG is hooked up to so I can’t change a hot to neutral. I’m just going to see what happens with this new control box.

New RJ-30+ cell, zero amps, 28v, 0000 salinity?

220 wiring doesn’t have a neutral. For 120 do I just hook one hot and the other to the ground?

New RJ-30+ cell, zero amps, 28v, 0000 salinity?

I’m in 40 percent warranty right now. He said this would be way cheaper. Perhaps I’ll try the 120 route.

New RJ-30+ cell, zero amps, 28v, 0000 salinity?

Well I got the cell back and it’s doing the exact same thing, except this time power cycling won’t fix it. I double checked all connections. Verified my ground is good, 120 on each hot leg and 240 total is going to the box. Tech support seemed pretty stumped. They had me play with it for a bit...

New RJ-30+ cell, zero amps, 28v, 0000 salinity?

Yeah I have some Orenda on order. Phosfree clogs up my filter cartridges pretty quickly. They had the same video I posted here as well.

New RJ-30+ cell, zero amps, 28v, 0000 salinity?

I completed the SLAM so I am positive I have nothing brewing in the water. Just to be safe I am going to treat the 125 ppb of phosphates I have before I clean the filter. DSP says they tested the cell and control module, and nothing is wrong. They ran it for about an hour. I'm a bit frustrated...

    Help me ID this stain.

I had my roof replaced last November but they covered the pool and I checked after as well for nails. Other than lawn mowing and shrub trimming no significant landscaping. I think I will try some new vitamin C since it cheap before I buy the Jacks kit. It does look like rust from a nail or...

    Help me ID this stain.

Chlorine had no effect. The sock with vitamin C was about a week old and just kept causing red clouds. That didn't happen when the pills were new. Maybe I should try new vitamin C? Where would copper come from? I have no history of copper in my city water and I dont use algaecide.

    Help me ID this stain.

I dont have dry acid. I'll try the magnet, but I'm confident its not rebar, or else it would have shown years ago, not after more plaster was added on top.

    Help me ID this stain.

I usually get stains like this from berries, but the chlorine makes them go away over time. These have been there for a few months now. Rubbing a trichlor puck on them does nothing, nor does vitamin C. I was able to get them to fade quite a bit with a red "erase it" bar, but I didnt want to go...

    Inconsistent FC results during SLAM

    Inconsistent FC results during SLAM

My salt pool has around 70 CYA so my slam FC is high. I have been doing tests with 5ml of water instead of 10. Sometimes if I do the same test over it can vary by around 5-6. My reagents and powder are new and I am using a stirrer. Do I need to be more precise on the 5ml line? I've slammed a ton...

New SWG Install - Low FC

There is a test kit for it, Taylor K-1106. Dont bother with strips. The problem is algae will confuse the test as well. Either way DSP will ask for pool store test results so you have to go see a Leslies or similar. If you are in a SLAM, algae is probably consuming FC as well, so you can't...

Be careful with Clorox Pool salt.

Forgot to update but the stains came off no problem with a sock full of vitamin C pills. I wont be using clorox salt again.

Looking for input to convert to SWG from Chlorine

You have plenty of real estate and piping run to install a SWG. I would take the time to get rid of most of that flex tubing during the install process. That does not even look like proper flexible PVC, and the hose clamps look pretty suspect. Maybe that is ok for above ground? As for the SWG. I...

New SWG Install - Low FC

Also one more thing, make sure you have no phosphates. I know phosphates don't matter if your pool is properly sanitized, but DSP will blame that for your cell not keeping up. They made me provide pool store results before they agreed to let me send my equipment in. They prefer zero but want you...

New SWG Install - Low FC

Did you do the OCLT? I'm sorry to say I have doubts about Circupool myself these days.... Ever since I got my replacement cell my pool hasn't been holding FC either. I passed OCLT no problem too but kept losing a few FC a day even at 70-80 FC. Now I have algae and am SLAMing as well, but I am...

    SWG and SLAM

Like the above poster said it's really a waste of your cell life. Also, it will interfere with your FC readings. With the SWG running, you will not get a clear picture of how much FC the organic matter and UV is consuming in your pool during the SLAM. You should be running your pump 24/7 during...

New RJ-30+ cell, zero amps, 28v, 0000 salinity?

My CYA tested at 70 last night probably from the rain, so I need about 3 gallons to get to SLAM, but yes I'll need plenty more to complete the process. DSP watched my video and told me that is unusual. I am sending them the box and cell tomorrow morning.

New RJ-30+ cell, zero amps, 28v, 0000 salinity?

I tested salt with that kit but a few weeks ago. I will check again, but I don't believe my salt is low enough to cause problems. I was running slightly high salt at DSP's request before they replaced the cell because my old cell was reading low. The new cell is reading within 3-500ish ppm of my...

New RJ-30+ cell, zero amps, 28v, 0000 salinity?

I did check the connection. Clean and dry with a little dielectric lube. As for the polarity reversing, I don’t believe the generate light turns off like that when it does it, but I’ll ask DSP. It’s been a while but I’m pretty sure it just slowly ramps down then into negative without just...

New RJ-30+ cell, zero amps, 28v, 0000 salinity?

I have it set at 100 percent so I don’t believe it should be cycling at all but I could be wrong. In the years I’ve had this system I’ve always ran it at 100 and never seen this.

New RJ-30+ cell, zero amps, 28v, 0000 salinity?

I did a search but this seems to be a new one. I just had my cell replaced under warranty. All seemed good, the control box numbers looked good and saw bubbly haze in the cells when generating. However, ever since the new cell, the pool has had trouble holding FC. I bumped up the CYA to 80 since...

Be careful with Clorox Pool salt.

Wow. I usually use that Diamond brand from HD or Mortons. Clorox was the first thing I saw at Lowes and I only needed one bag. I ordered some vitamin C and I'll dive down there and scrub it this weekend when the pool isnt so cold. Its very subtle red/brown hazy spots where the salt sat I guess...

So just a sock full of cheap asorbic acid pills should take the stains off?
