Hello Folks,
First TFP is great. I have learned so much already. Thank you all!!

Second, I am looking for expert advice on converting a two year old above ground chlorine pool to salt water pool.
Below is a description of what we have in place now. I have also attached photos too. Thank you in advance for your input!!!

Pool: 24' Mission pool with 54" steel walls and resin coping (15,227 gallons)
Filter: Hayward Perflex extended life DE filter
Pump: Hayward Power flow matrix single speed (HP=1.5, Volts=115; AMPs= 15.0) on 20 AMP breaker with GE smart things remote control switch
Heater = Swimjoy solar tube panels (we love them for New Hampshire)

So you have options. For simplicity's sake, you might consider the Circupool series (i.e. RJ-30, 45, 60) which are fairly user-friendly DIY SWGs. They have others as well. I have the RJ-45 and use it with my 115V outlet. It's on a separate outlet from my pump, so you want to ensure the SWG will not normally try to operate with power if the pump is off. The flow swicth is a fail-safe saftey thing only. Also, you'll need to extend the PVC from your solar where it comes down and transitions to the return flex hose. You'll want a bit more PVC line for the SWG to install to. But aside from the power source and PVC to mount the SWG to, it's a good upgrade. If you do opt for the RJ-Series, I'd go with the RJ-45. Should be plenty of size for yoru pool. But be sure to visit Discount Salt Pools and go to their Salt Comparison tab to see everything listed.

You can see my RJ-45 install link in my signature.

Hope that helps get you started.

You have plenty of real estate and piping run to install a SWG. I would take the time to get rid of most of that flex tubing during the install process. That does not even look like proper flexible PVC, and the hose clamps look pretty suspect. Maybe that is ok for above ground? As for the SWG. I have mixed feelings about my RJ-30+ lately. I will say their prices and warranty are great. Not many other SWGs will warranty a DIY job. I have had to send mine in a few times for repairs or updated controller wiring and they have been pretty good. I am sending in my brand new cell today to be looked at since I'm having issues. It was only 400 for a new cell with 60 percent pro rated warranty after 4 years.
