    new pool build

I agree with Allen that 3' is way too shallow. Hold a tape measure up and see where 3' hits you. You will not be able to do a full swim stroke at 3'.

Does the inner edge of our infinity spa look right?

It looks great! They did a great job not having too much grout and looks like they used care on how the tiles all fit together. You need to tell the pool service guy bye and take care of your own pool. It is super easy to do with a good test kit. Like Allen said no one will take as good of care...

Jan 2025 IG pool build in Georgia, need liner re set!!!!

There was one build where they marked out the dig and had a good before meeting. THEN the digger dug the shallow end on THAT side instead of THIS side!! BIG difference!! They had to move dirt from that end to this end and compact it down good. It was a mess!

Help! Tropic Blue Mini looks too vibrant

Hi and welcome to TFP. Yeah new plaster does not show it's true colors for a bit. Some take about 3 months, some take a bit longer. What start up are you using? Have you been brushing the pool?

    Greetings

Well I am at a lose here. That is a one of the test kits we recommend. If your water was kept within the range you listed then it was fine and should not have damaged the heater. I would not use the chlorine tablets/pucks too much as they add CYA to your water. CYA builds up over time and the...

    Greetings

Welcome to TFP! Lets keep your new heater up and running for a good long time. At the same time your pool will be clearer than ever before! The first step is you getting your own test kit. But, but, but...............the pool store will test it for free...................Is it really free if...

New gunite Spa and pool in Stuart

Well I sure can tell you have been doing some reading here! Water depths and all kinds of things you knew we would "talk to you" about! LOVE IT! Now this is very *interesting* but I really don't understand how this helps him? BUT whatever...................do you have it in writing about adding...

    ecoFinish Coating Failure

Well at least they are using a good test kit. I still say there is something going on with your water. My guess is they are not "hitting the needed levels to have the pool balanced like needed for the coating to stay nice.

    New build in Metro Atlanta

Here some ideas on the grout: -white will make each tile pop -light to medium gray will allow the tile to blend in with each other more Both are very pretty! You can ask to play with the grout sticks so you can see what each one looks like. Now saying that I want you to think about BLACK...

    ecoFinish Coating Failure

That is wonderful they are going to redo it. You have the sequence correct for the layers of the pool...........shell, plaster, ecofinish. The ground water should not really have anything to do with the ecofinish as it does not even touch the finish. MY GUESS, and it is only that, a guess, is...

    Flexseal on diamond brite. Yep.

HI @BattleOfYakima ! SO glad to see you on the boards!! It is a good idea to get the water balanced to try to stop the degrading of what plaster is left. That might save him some time until he can find someone to do the work of replastering the pool. It also helps him how to properly...

BOOM! Now it is ON!!! ALGAE BE GONE!!! Here is your next steps: -Find a pool store that has liquid chlorine since your local Walmart are not carrying it. It is considered "out of season" so you might be out of luck finding it there :( Get at least 10 gals of chlorine for now. -Read this...

Hi and welcome to TFP! It looks like you are going for a sport/play pool. The corners for the steps and bench concern me a bit (I am a major "mama bear"). I worry someone will be playing in the pool and run into them causing them to get hurt. I would consider making the bench run the full...

New owner of a pool that just recently turned green

Hi and welcome to TFP! You have come to right place to learn everything you need to know about your pool and how to care for it. The first thing we have to address is you finding some liquid chlorine. See if your local pool store has any chlorine. They should have yellow jugs you can put a...

Do what works for you and your pool. Now a word of caution........................watch the water temps in the Spring. The only time I got a slight algae outbreak was in the Spring when I did not pay attention to the water temp so did not put enough chlorine in. I noticed the water was getting...

    Flexseal on diamond brite. Yep.

So when you say "Failing" you mean the plaster is coming off? I do see some roughness but I don't see where any plaster has come off the shell. Now lets talk about "uv inhibitors" and such. You need a good test kit so you can keep an eye on your water. Next you need to know what needs to be...

Seeking Advice on Pool Resurfacing Materials

There are two ways that will last you a while: -Replaster-make sure they chip out all of the old plaster. -Vinyl liner-You can put a liner over the plaster. You will have to put in a liner track. Finding someone that can measure for the new liner may be your biggest hurdle.
