Hubby and I live in 18938, New Hope, PA and have a pool 60x18 feet that needs full renovation. We've learned enough to know that we don't want to have to brush the surface of our pool multiple times a day, day-after-day, to ensure the curing process is done correctly. What surface manufacturer is the best to avoid this step? or to minimize the risk/amount of work involved for proper curing? My newest approach to find a pool contractor/renovator in my area is to first identify the product I want to use. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to TFP.

Brushing new plaster prevents plaster dust from settling on the surfaces and hardening. You want to keep the plaster dust in suspension so that the filter can capture it.

The bi-carb startup creates the least plaster dust and minimizes how much brushing is needed...

Is there a teenager in your neighborhood who is looking to make a few extra bucks brushing your pool? Their wage will be negligible compared to the cost of the re-plaster.
