Hey everyone,
I hope this is something easy to fix. I noticed my salt system display to be lit, the light is on but the display is blank, I also notices there is no flow on the salt cell, which tells me is not chlorinating either. I have already tried to turn it off, by pressing the on button 6 seconds and pressing other buttons, I check the troubleshooting on the manual and there's nothing related to that issue, nothing I tried seems to work, any ideas I can try?
Thanks

pipe,

In theory, all power to a SWCG system should be off, if the pump is not running..

It does not happen often, but if the cell is powered without the pump running, they can explode...

If you have a single speed pump the cell and the pump should run off of the same timer or power source.

If you have some kind of automation system, it should control the AC power the the SWCG system using a relay that does not close unless it is telling the pump to run.

Sorry, but I know nothing about your Trueclear system that would be helpful.. :(

Thanks,

Jim R.

Hey Jim,
Thanks for the response, I should have been clearer, sometimes it takes me a few times to explain and provide the details. Sorry about that.

SWCG system is off when pump is not running, all is good there, it also does not come on when pump is off, so all good there too. The issue I was trying to explain is that when it comes on, I can see the light on the display coming on, but no letters or information is displayed, it stays blank, usually it will display the % of chlorination that the SWCG is at. Hopefully that explains more my situation.

Thanks,
Felipe

How old is the Truclear system?

How do you notice there is no flow to the salt cell?

Make a warranty claim with Jandy.

It was purchased in 2020, so it's about 4 years old. I noticed because the water is not bubbling while passing thru the salt cell as it usually does.
I was hoping to get some guidance or troubleshooting here, but I will call Jandy today.

There is not much we can tell you about troubleshooting that unit other then confirm power is on and you have adequate water flow.

There are two short ribbon cables from the control board to the display and keypad.

Open the box and check the connections.

Be very careful because the cables are short and it is easy to yank them loose when you open the box.

Thanks for your response, this gives me hope that it can be fixed before I call the pool company to come and diagnose it. Are you thinking the cables are disconnected for some reason or are you suggesting that I just disconnect and connect them again?

Will do. Thanks!
It worked!!!!!!!!! Thank you, Jesus, for your pool systems knowledge.

When I open the box, the cable was not loosed I only wiggle them gently towards getting them back in, but really didn't feel I did anything or connected them again, so I put the box back and before I put back the screws, I turn the pump on and BOOM all came back to normal!
Thank you so much again!
Have a great weekend!

This may sound dumb but how do you get the the cover off of the power pack? I removed the 8 screws around the cover but the bottom doesn’t seem to come off.

If memory serves there are also screws at the bottom that need to be removed. I remember there being a lot of screws. Like someone said earlier in this post, be careful, the ribbon cables connecting the control panel to the main board are pretty short.
