So this happened

Running a separate hose from another spigot seemed to make a big difference for me. Just don’t try to do laundry, take a shower or run the dishwasher because you will have absolutely no water pressure..
We ran three hoses. Used up ALL the water pressure. But the pool filled up pretty fast!

This was my pressure relief attempt to not blow the filter bucket apart, or have the sprinkler pipe launch itself. I thought the T fitting might still have too much ooomph so I drilled 8 or so 3/8ths holes straight through the pipe.

The poly fill looked angel white, but when I pulled it out it, the water coming out of it looked like iced tea. So it definitely caught crud. The water is tinted with a brown haze so it didn't catch everything. I used 2 bags of poly fill in the HD bucket and it took some effort to get the 2nd one to fit.

Donated a tshirt as a sack of CYA. I let it soak in a storage tub overnight and moved it to the return this morning now that it's a better water height.

I have 10lbs going for now which will give me around 30. I will SLAM first and then go to 70 for the SWG.

*** You new folks pay good attention here. Stop making excuses to avoid a SLAM and start making excuses to have an easy one that might even be completed the first night.

I am jealous that you are adding salt right away. The beauty of a liner pool.
Hey, you should have put some of the CYA in the diffuser (the orange home depot bucket contraption) !

I tried to and the 10lb sack that I already tied up like a roast only fit in the bucket one particular way. It was so tight in the bucket that it didn't get much flow from the fill pipe.

About the same time I was realizing the bucket CYA wasn't working, the water level was high enough to go all carrot on a stick. When I started at 6AM the returns were still 6 inches above the water and I didn't want to blow apart my bag with the stream.

#Preach. 1 gallon is 4ppm for me. I went shopping *one time* for enough gallons to make it until the salt dissolves and that was *too many times* wasting an hour and a half finding bleach with empty shelves, or old stock if the store did have some.

So the pic doesn't do it justice of course but there was a white sediment down stream of the CYA sack.

I'm brushing and brushing to no avail and I stepped to the side to get a different angle of attack and the sediment moved with me. I was brushing the reflection of a cloud. 🤦‍♂️:ROFLMAO:

Been a while since you did this pool maintenance stuff?
