Tested fc finally... I can see how I'll get faster at this. I pulled water from the shallow end since that's all I can reach... 1 fc...

Had to wait for my husband and his long arms to get off work to test fc. We really don't have much in there. Then had to run to Theisen's to get a soft, clean brush. Now it's thundering. I'll get the chlorine in there at some point tonight...

I took the cya socks out. PB is stopping by again today. Electrician says they'll have everything up & running on monday. One of my friends who also has a pool stopped by last night. She said, yup that's the color of our city water...

So they don't want us putting chems in the pool right now... the PB put the skimmer in & he's filling the pool the rest of the way. He said they will clear up the pool & put "metal ban" in which will allow the iron to drop to the bottom then they will vacuum it out. Once it's clear they will do orientation and turn the pool over to us...
It's so hard to do nothing when I know what needs to be done...
He said we'll probably be swimming by thursday, definitely friday. I'm trying not to be annoyed. They really have been great but I'm ready to take the wheel. They are probably use to people having no clue but I know what I'm doing. Husband said to just let them do their thing. They've brought us this far. OKAY.

I will blindly trust your water chemistry knowledge against the PB. That being said, itās probably best to let him handle the iron. He deals with it at every build and even if itās not the most ideal way, itās still probably a way that works for him.

when I moved into my house in Virginia it had a pool and a hot tub. I had wanted a pool for my entire life but never cared about a hot tub. By the time I left I didn't care much about the pool but will never be without a hot tub again. For Iowa though a standalone spa probably makes better sense, but in the pool I am doing in Texas in which I will keep open year round....integrated spa.

Yes that's exactly what we're thinking. They have been so great to us... just a little longer and we can swim!
I told the PB we may want an swcg next year. He said he has a few in the warehouse. He could install now if we wanted. We have some LC to get through... I told him next year when they come open the pool...
I got mine before even signing a build contract, but your way works too.
Itās actually great for 2 reasons :
Youāll be a master in adding liquid after a season in case of power/equipment failure, or if the SWG needs a little help after a party, hot day, etc.
You will appreciate the SWG all that much more when the time comes. People that go straight there have nothing to compare it to. Many wonder if the $XXXX was worth it. Youāll know. Believe me youāll know.

It's raining hard for the first time in months which is really really great for the grass... We're going to have to drain a bit out of the pool so it doesn't overflow.
The water level was already higher than mid skimmer as that is where the PB had the fill stop. My guess is because they were planning to vacuum to waste with the meta ban stuff.
Btw my pool looks awful. They said they would clear it by thurs/fri... I'm not convinced.

Pool is looking great, aside from the green swap look, but with the TFP expertise you have, it should be clear in no time! Exciting to get this far for sure, you will be swimming soon!
