Move aside TX, CA and AZ! It's time for some midwest action. 😂

Pool company called. They will be out in 2-3 weeks to finalize pool size, bells & whistles and location.

Been waiting on the landscaper to draw up plans (for several months). We have been working with him on lots of stuff over the years so he's reliable. We have a weird backyard and need to scrape off the top 2-3 inches to level the ground. It's weird but we have a concrete step and we need to get rid of it before someone trips & gets injured.

We are #2 on the pool company's list. We decided early on in covid to put down a deposit. The dig starts February.

Will post plans when I get them! I'm, I mean "we're" so excited!

Landscaper was here and dropped off plans. More details coming but here is the sketch... Pool company will be here friday or monday to finalize pool details.

it has everything we want with cabana & bathroom. We're not going to do the hot tub and will have to talk to my husband about fire pit.

So as we were out with the pool guys I felt iffy about our actual property lines. The golf course owns the strip of land next to us. So we called a survey company and they came out to put posts in. Thank goodness we did this, our property lines were quite different than what we believed them to be. So we're probably going to have to flip the pool direction since we don't have as much room to the north. We also found out the corner of our lot goes further east than we thought. We're like 2ft from the tee box. But that's ok, it's on the other side of the house and won't impact pool related things.

Looks nice! Fire pit would probably be cool. Can’t imagine it would cost a lot, relatively speaking...

We're not going to do the hot tub
Remember, you can’t use a pool in the winter here in the Midwest, but a standalone hot tub can be used throughout the entire winter. ;)

I had my property line surveyed as there is a strip of unused golf course property that runs along our north side. Good thing we did as we had to flip the pool. Here is the updated landscaping plans. Also ordered our tft-100 test kit. Going to sign up for the TFP pool app thing today too! Can't wait to be swimming!4E4367D7-4EBB-4EFD-AC21-2FF4A1D347B8.jpeg

Also ordered a polywood outdoor dining set and chaise lounges. Will be delivered late May. Omg hope they are worth the money... 😵

More colorful plans. We're doing everything but I'm hesitant on the hot tub. Seems like a lot more work than the pool to maintain... the slide will curve the other way and we are getting a mosquito repellent system as we are not far from the Cedar River.88ADBB30-C2C2-4621-8A11-DCA5182D51A1.jpeg

...the slide will curve the other way...
I wouldn't advise having the slide deposit you in the shrubbery. Landing in the water is best. ;)

I've often wondered about the effort required on a hot tub. I suspect much of it is the learning curve, just like a pool.

Ha. Yes should have said the ladder to the slide will be on the opposite side...

Pool company called, no official dig date yet but targeting April 1st! Yay! Meeting with pool company, concrete guy and landscaper in about 2 weeks.

Looks great. Have you talked to your builder about your bathroom tying into the sewage line? In our subdivision here we had to tie ours into the main sewage line which was 18 feet deep. Quite an expensive dig.

18 ft deep!!!! 😳😬 We've already had a quote for accessing the sewer line. I think it was $1500-3000. I can't remember...

Just putting some info here from the contract:

Filter: System III Sand
Pump: Intelliflo
Liner: Mountain Top Blue Mosaic
Robot: Dolphin M200

The pool dig is scheduled for a week from Tuesday but the landscaper is here to dig out the old concrete.
