Double-check on the gas points as it might require you to get one of their Costco credit cards to receive them. Costco gas is a bargain in high fuel cost states. When we lived in California, Costco gas was routinely 20-30 cents cheaper than any local gas station. The Costco gas station always had huge seas of cars lined up for fuel. When we moved here to AZ, where gas prices are rational, the cost differential fell to 5-10 cents. So I don’t typically buy gas from Costco as it’s not really worth the extra miles. But boy did I hate going to regular gas stations when we lived in Cali....

Where I live gas prices are reasonable, they’re around $1.69 a gallon right now. Good news is I will drive by Costco pretty much daily on my regular routine, so even if points are not allowed, if it’s a better deal I will take it advantage of it. The icing on the cake is it’s basically at the same intersection as a new Cabela’s they just put up, I like wandering through that store as well.

Honestly IMO, it’s worth it to pick up the Costco visa, as it’s through Citi Bank. You get points on everything you buy no matter where. See the link below for details. :cheers:

I use Capital One, I get 2% back and can use it on anything. I really like capital one I use for virtually everything.

If you are buying that much fuel, get the Visa card. 4% back on fuel.

We combine all the discounts at Executive level and Visa card to get 13% back on the cruises we purchase through Costco Travel. A great deal.

In my continuing beef short-rib fetish, I decided to make up a pot full of homemade ragù sauce -

Then I figured, oh heck, why not make a pile of meatballs too....

Boil up 2 lbs of pasta to go with it (there’s some crusty French bread in the pantry too) ...

And, viola! Dinner is served ....

(Topped with freshly grated pecorino Romano cheese...)

oh looking good matt!

we are making my one grandmothers sauce today actually (mint based one). i'm waiting for my mint to arrive when my dad goes shopping.

we were out so I decided to make some french toast. I was craving cinnamon apples. had no apples so i went pears. tasted way better than it looks. i really liked the pears vs apples. we have cooked pears with pork before but never for breakfast.

off to start my sauce. i have just enough mint for the meatballs so i will get those together and frig them. once i get the rest of my mint i can throw together the sauce. this recipe it sausage and meatballs only.

i think the wife is making pasta again today cause the kids really liked it last week.

so short ribs this week for me. lol matt, you got me thinking i got to check to make sure i have [FONT=Open Sans, sans-serif]Locatelli grated. we have been going through a lot of grated cheese from the holiday. my dad buys full wheels from a local place and we just cut off what we need and grate it as we need it. and good for bid he catches me putting it in the food processor vs hand grating it fine. takes forever! he can always tell when he eats down our house. "you didn't use ur grated did you?"

Found Ham on sale yesterday for about .30¢ a pound so we tried to see how many meals we could make out of it. Ham with Scallop potatoes yesterday, Ham/potatoes/Cabbage today.......now to figure out the ham bone.

Yes cliff it is really efficient on the gas and cooks great. There are about 4-5 griddles on the market within my price range but the camp chef really suits my style[emoji2]

i got a ham bone soup back in this thread from last week. cabbage, potatoes, carrots, celery. my wife made it in no time. google around for something similar. It was good!

In my quest to get familiar with the instant pot here is Instant pot Osso Bucco with fresh pasta and Gremolata topping[emoji108] shall I say this is a keeper yes [emoji898][emoji482] it was very yummy just like going out to eat at our favorite Italian restaurant but half the price [emoji2]
