New rectangular IG in Mesa, AZ

Awesome build thread. Thank you for taking the time to add all the detailed pictures and narratives. Agree with previous comments that the plumbing, electrical and steel work looks really good.

SR Smith Typhoon Slide Install Recommendation

Wanted to get thoughts on the best way to anchor the subject slide to my pool deck. Here are the details: 1. The deck is not yet installed. I will be installing 24"x24"x2CM MSI Arterra porcelain pool pavers on compacted 1/4" minus material. Installer will likely use sand (1/2" or so) for...

Recommendations for landscape plantings near pool

Ficus Nitida is likely out due to the frost tolerance and the root systems they develop. Thanks for the local landscape co's to check out.

Recommendations for landscape plantings near pool

Thank you. That is a good list. In doing a bit of research, I found my question in a blog post from another AZ pool owner. The response from the Maricopa County extension office offers some good information as well. Using Ficus as a Hedge/Screen Around a Pool in Phoenix...

    Vac or no Vac

It's really up to you. Personally, i think the flexibility of having it down the road is worth the negligible cost. An additional thought - as you stated, it's a standard feature from the PB, you'll likely receive little to no credit for not including it. It does add a little more complexity to...

Recommendations for landscape plantings near pool

Hello -- We are located in the Phoenix area. Hoping to get some recommendations for some plant types that would do well given the following: I have 3'6" clear space between the back of my coping and the existing block wall fence. The fence is overall appx 6' tall consisting of CMU and about...

Supplying own waterline tile and grout/supplies - help please :)

My tile installer used C-cure Multiset 917 and MP Sanded 924. Product data on both appear to be acceptable for this application.

    New Build in Mesa, AZ

No slide yet. I have the pool filled and have been in it a few times, but still have a decent amount of work to do on the decking and water features. I have been eyeing the helix 2, but the price tag has prevented me from pulling the trigger just yet.

    New Build in Mesa, AZ

We ended up going with MSI Arterra porcelain pavers/coping. I have the coping installed and the decking is on order. They are pretty reasonably priced and a better non-slip surface than the travertine. Also, more durable.

Dig Day!! Done - now Gunite...twice? in the 30’s, after rain?

Thanks for the pics. It doesn't appear that much progress was made on the shotcrete operation part 1. Most of your cage is still exposed with proper clearances to earth/existing shotcrete. Agree with CT's take.

Dig Day!! Done - now Gunite...twice? in the 30’s, after rain?

So there will be a cold joint between shotcrete pours? I'm not a structural engineer but I think there should be something applied to ensure that it bonds and forms a monolithic shell. There are lots of products on the market to accomplish this. Take a look at the general structural...

Looking for advice on OB in AZ

No BYOP. Did meet with a PB early on to get some ideas, but ultimately took the design and made it what I wanted it to be. Engineering was through a company out in CA that has typical structural engineering packages for residential pools. Created sub list and budget and then solicited pricing...

Steplock Pavers from Artistic Pavers - Decking and Coping options

Has anyone had experience that they would be able to share with the products in the link below from artistic pavers? www.artisticpavers.com I was able to look and feel some samples at an expo over the weekend and was thoroughly impressed. I like the claims that they stay cooler than some of...
