I'm resurrecting this thread because it hits exactly on my questions. I just bought a new cover. I didn't go looking for advice first, and chose clear, but I think my indoor plaster pool poses different challenges. The old blue cover finally disintegrated, but it was at least 10 years old...

It's really not - especially if you have the right brush. I have the kind with just a small scoop on the top. It moves a tremendous amount of water - a few minutes of forceful brushing mixes better than than hours of pump time.

For me it's exactly like painting: a rewarding, relaxing if not fun activity with annoying prep at the beginning and clean-up after.

Brushes make excellent stir sticks!
