Most drivers (at least around here) would only be willing to do that to some extent. Depending on how fast you can pump, they could be having to adjust the output flow from the tanker quite a bit. Unless you are tipping them, or paying extra for that service, I wouldnt expect a driver to be...

I dont know that you can use the tarp method. Unless you rented a gas powered pump (and even then), I dont know that you could keep up with the flow from a tanker. Plus with a tarp method you are looking to add water at the same time and rate as your are pumping it out. Given the size of your...

    High Copper and CYA levels

That is good to know! I had done some google research and saw a product called Cu Lator that I was thinking about using. If my pump and refill cycles dont eliminate the VAST majority of the copper, would it be okay to use that? It seems to trap the metals in itself, but I am also aware that...

    High Copper and CYA levels

@Dean, forgive my ignorance, but another person told me that I shouldnt ever use a sequesterant product since it would require me to have to change my sand out in my filter more often. I dont know how sand gets "used up", so no clue why you would ever need to change out the sand. still a TOTAL...

New to owning a real pool

Not too sure that I will be closing it myself yet. Of course the old adage, the only way to know it is done correctly is to do it yourself. However at this point, I feel like it will only let me figure out what else I dont know about pools and screw something else up. I do have a TF-100...

    High Copper and CYA levels

Just a quick update. Still working at it. CYA tested today at ~55. Garden hose is taking FOREVER to refill it, luckily we have had a bit of rain that has helped some. Next stupid question / thought. Is there a way to test for copper dilution levels with the TF-100 that I am just missing?

New to owning a real pool

I recently purchased a home with a whopper of a pool. The only real "pool" experience I have had was a cheap above ground pool from years ago that we just put chlorine in the floater and "that was that". Fast forward to current day, and I now own a 20'x48' vinyl lined pool. Still trying to...

    High Copper and CYA levels

Let me just start off by saying, sorry for the long first post! Recently bought a home with a pool, and since we are first time pool owners we knew that we needed to learn. Had a friend of a friend come out (who is VERY knowledgeable and a regular on this forum) and walk us through "pool...
