    RPM vs GPM

One reason to know flow rate is to make sure you aren't pushing more flow through your filter than it's rated for. A quick googling provides the TDH vs flow curve at multiple speeds for that pump on the spec sheet. https://www.hayward-pool.com/shop/en/pools/tristar-variable-speed-pump-sp3202vsp...

    Patio with fiberglass reinforced concrete

I've heard positive things about fiber reinforced concrete. The fibers (glass, polypropylene, or steel) don't do much to stop any structural cracking due to poor foundation soils/settlement and are not a supplement for rebar. They control shrinkage cracking due to stresses developed during...

    Overdig backfill compaction.

From a contractual perspective.... Notes on drawings provided by the PB should be something you can use to get the work redone, seek a credit, or additional warranty. Requirements of the building official above and beyond what is explicitly stated in your contract docs could be up for...

    Overdig backfill compaction.

Instead of focusing on mechanical systems requirements for trenches, I looked for structural requirements of the deck/concrete and pool itself. I'm also thinking that the design professional would have something to say about the backfill compaction requirements, your contract does state that...

    Overdig backfill compaction.

I can't say wether it is common with pools or not, but I would also be very concerned. Placing then compacting in lifts, with proper soil moisture content, is the only way to get the soil to not noticibly settle down the road. I would imagine there is some piping in this excavation too...

    Wont turn on

Hmm. I'm not sure there is much to go wrong on the mechanical timers, although I did fry one once when I was working as an electricians helper. Can you confirm the timer has power? Can you hear the internal motor and gears turning, or see the faceplate turning? Does the switch manually operate...

Is this solar cover worth saving?

Is this cover worth cleaning and keeping or should I just buy new. It was rolled up and stored beside the pool unprotected where it looked like it hadn't been used in years. Besides the tearing/chew holes the bubbles appear in good shape and the material is still flexible. If it makes any...

Need some help designing plumbing layout

I can't speak to your local code requirements but the sand protects and supports the plastic from it's surroundings. It is free from any sharp or hard objects that could cause stress points as the backfill settles, it easily flows beneath the pipe and is easily compacted ensuring full support to...

    Same Equipment, New Plumbing

I'll have to read more into aerating, but a tee would be easy enough to install if needed. I was thinking, after the fact of course, I should have got double union instead of single union for at least the isolation valves. Would have made it a non-issue. Is your concern more on the pipe...

    Same Equipment, New Plumbing

Thanks Pat! One more pic to show the electrical and added flow direction indicating tape on the piping.

    Same Equipment, New Plumbing

Thought I would post what I've been working on the last couple of weeks. The pump and filter were previously installed on the ground with hoses and at the opposite corner of the pool. Power supply was via UF cable with a GFCI outlet that wouldn't trip when tested. I wanted to relocate and...
