    Pool light removal

Is it possible to use a pneumatic impact driver? I would think a cheap Harbor Freight ($20+) is not a bad option. If not, I will try with a manual impact driver.

    Pool light removal

I don't own a manual impact driver. I would think the challenge would be staying underwater with a hammer in one hand and the impact driver in the other. I assume there is a trick to this. Thanks

    Pool light removal

Hi, The bulb in my pool went out. I think it's close to 20 years old if not more. I purchased a new bulb and when I went to remove the pool light cover (single screw), the screw wouldn't budge. I tried different Phillips screwdrivers but none of them are making a difference. What do you...

    Solar panel leak

*** NEW UPDATE *** When the solar is circulating, there are no leaks. The next morning after running the solar the precious day, I notice a leak coming from the gutters (slight drops; solar is on the 2nd story roof). I go up to the panels and don't see a visible leak but do see where a roof...

    DIY - towel holder

Hi, I have a 4”x4”6’ treated post left over from my fence project. It’s a red color and my question is, can I use this for my towel holder project? Is the treated post a bad idea? Thanks in advance.

    Cartridge Filter

Hi, Is it terrible to pour a little bit of DE in the skimmer if I have a cartridge filter (4 cartridges inside the housing). A pool tech stated it will help if I pour a small amount (half of scoop; scoop he uses for other DE filters). Thanks in advance.

    Filter pressure

Hi, I have a 4-cartridge filter and it seems that I need to clean the filter x2/month in the summer to keep the pressure at 17-21 or so. I do notice that when the solar heating turns on, the pressure goes from 17 to 30. I assume this is normal when the solar heater is active. Thanks in advance.

    Solar panel leak

After plugging the other end of the second hole, the panels are all good. Appreciate the help.

    Solar panel leak

I used this exact same kit. I'll look later today to see if the leak stopped as I used plugs on both ends on each hole. I'm not sure as I can't see any marking on the panels anywhere. Any idea how to check?

    Solar panel leak

Let me try to explain again as I may have not included all the necessary info. I plugged the upper leak inserting plugs pointing up only (not plugging this same hole on the other side (pointing down). I figured water flows downward and no need to plug the line where it points down. I plugged...

    Solar panel leak

Hi, I have a panel with a couple of leaks. I inserted repair plugs along with liquid nail. After testing the following day, the upper hole no longer leaked but the bottom hole on the same panel/same line still leaks (see photo and video). I thought if the top hole was plugged, the bottom hole...

    Solar panel leak/s

I wish I had info on the solar panels. I'd have to dig the docs that were handed to us when the house was purchased 15+yrs ago. The leak in the PVC connection was very minor so I ended up using epoxy clay around the tubing and the leak is no more :) I hope this is it for the remainder of the...

Polaris 360 - tail gets sucked in

Thanks for the response. How can I test the flow? The tail doesn't whip back and forth like it did last swim season. Not sure what to make of that. It seems to spray out of the water but to a lesser degree.

Polaris 360 - tail gets sucked in

Hi, My Polaris 360 started to suck it's own tail in. It's happened 3-4 times in the last 3 weeks or so. What can I do to avoid this? I just cleaned the filter and everything seems to be running good. It has been rebuilt once in the last 12 years. Thanks in advance.
