Intex Bar Replacements - Now or in the Spring?

I have a 26x52 Intex, and I have 2 top rails and one upright that will need to be replaced, in the same area (near where I had the dang-blasted fountain mounted). I have drained about 1/3 of the water to close it. Do I leave "as is" and finish draining in the spring to replace the pcs? Let it...

    Mid-October & Still Warm.....

My pool water is 74 degrees today. I just vacuumed, cleaned the filter, skimmed with a net, and added some bleach. I think I will be doing this until December before the water hits 60 so I can close. For real? Must I really do this? First year to leave a pool up through winter.

Where can I find someone to help take down my pool?

I had a 14x48 Intex last summer, and at the end of summer, purchased a 26x52. I posted on a community page on FaceBook that I had the 14x48, free to whoever wanted to come and take it down. It was a few years old. Didn't take long for a response. A family took it down, excited to have it. I am...

    The First SUMMER WAS GREAT!

I came on this board last fall, after buying a used 26' x 52" Intex, and asked for advice. I'm a single, older, adoptive mom of an 8-yr-old girl, and asked for help doing this right, but on a budget. I can't thank you all enough for the advice. The pool has been a great addition to the back...

All the inflatable toys & floats!

Successful first summer with our Intex. Temps in the mid-90s this weekend, so I'm waiting a couple of weeks before I close for the season. But I have lots of inflatable toys and floats, and I'm letting the air out now to put away. Is there anything I can do as I store these to preserve them...

Lots of dead insects in pool

I have been surprised at the dead insects in my pool. I only have the bucket-type Intex skimmer. I hope to install the through-the-wall type before next season. The bugs float around the edge, and I usually find several on the floor of the pool, near the ladder. I skim with a net every day and...

Intex Filter Question on Shocking Pool

I buy gallon jugs of liquid pool chlorine at Atwoods - a farm supply store - here in Oklahoma. It has a higher % of chlorine than regular bleach, and it's consistently cheaper at that store. They are also consistently cheaper on pool salt. I had no idea they even carried it. So look around, you...

Where is formula to determine how much salt to add for low salt warning?

I have 26' x 52" Intex with SWG. I have been amazed at how often I need to add more salt. Low salt warning, and I couldn't get anywhere to buy more for a few days. I had been using liquid chlorine. Added 80 pounds Saturday night, and by Sunday afternoon, the water tested at 2800. So I need more...

Pool steps for AG intex pools

I have the plastic type that have a panel that rolls in or out of pool to prevent a child from using the ladder. They have a larger platform at the top, which is wonderful to turn around, or just sit and watch my daughter. She uses it to jump into the pool. You have to fill the legs with water...

New Intex AGP owner! Need advice and expertise!

Is it safe to have it so close to your home? What if there was a failure and all the water ran out toward your house?

    Intex pool installers

I bought 26'x52" Intex after it had been used a season. I live in a small, rural town. Hired a guy who builds driveways and repairs ponds and builds pads for barns to level the area. He cut down a few inches to level the ground, then brought a load of rock-free dirt to smooth over it and used...

    Unlevel pool

I hired a local guy with a tractor, he had to cut down a few inches on the high side in my rocky soil, then brought in some rock-free top soil and spread it out, then compacted it with a different piece of equipment, back and forth. He had it to within 1/4" level. Sloped all the edges, all the...

    Missing sand filter cap

I purchased a sand filter, that appeared nearly new, at an auction, only to realize this cap was missing, and the threads were damaged. Do you think this is a long-term solution? I was ready to put the unit on Craiglist for parts, but I would rather use the sand filter.

    Best rock around AGP?????

I'm planning to use river rock, but I can buy it at a landscape place "by the scoop" (a front-end loader) and put in a pickup bed much cheaper. Check that out before purchasing by the bag. I have it in a rock garden within my circle drive, and I like it.
