New Pool Build - Conroe, TX - LOTS of pics! Come say hi Y'all.

Sunbaby,

Been watching your thread for a while the whole pool turned out great!

Not sure if you know this or not however Texas has a very large surfing community, if you Google Houston/Galveston Surf shops you will find a ton of shops to call and inquire about damaged boards, might also check Craigslist for used boards.

Thanks for all the pictures of your build.

John

No spraydeck yet! I've got a huge anniversary party this weekend and asked for them not to do it this week. I just have too much to do. They did come get the jets in my spa all working today & put the ring in the firepit.

These were all from tonight. I hurt my neck when I was brushing 3 x a day every day. Went to the dr & they were hoping it was the muscle that connects the neck to the shoulder. Put me on muscle relaxers & anti-inflammatory meds. I'm all done with those and it's getting worse. :(. Heading to the chiropractor tomorrow, but tonight - wine & spa was the medicine of choice.

I'm sure the spa helped. And of course the wine! Sorry you're hurting! I hope I can brush this stuff. I guess I'll find out soon enough!
Your spa looks refreshing. I like the way you arranged your furniture and your umbrellas look really good.

I'm loving the spa. Still no heat in it, but it's 100 degrees outside, I'm not really wanting to heat it! The brushing wasn't too bad. I think I over-did it & just refused to stop. :(

Thank you! I need to get a pic with the firepit in it. Was trying to get some panoramic views today.

Amanda, I wonder if the pool builders just have their own name for the colors?

I am not going to lie - my neck hurts - but it is much better hurting with this view . . . no regrets.

On a side note. Two of my dogs love to walk around on the baja shelf. Bella, specifically, gets in the water 100 times a day. Then - - - she runs around outside and plays in the sand piles that have been left by the crews. Not a huge deal. Right? Well, this video shows what happens about 5 times a day.

Our furniture is NEVER going to last!

Wendy is she willing to be taught to roll on a rug just outside the door before she comes in? Maybe get one of those fiber rugs for that? I am thinking since it is not just running in the sand but full body rolls it would not be worth while to trail her to wipe her feet LOL

On a side note, Had my first adjustment today on my neck. I don't like it at all, so scary to let someone twist your neck & the popping . . . I'm seriously gonna have nightmares. He said its textbook pinched nerve, I have to go back tomorrow. He also wants me to use a narcotic cream, more anti-inflammatories, ultrasound and an MRI. Im hoping he throws in some massage in there somewhere. Sure wish chiropractic care was covered by insurance.

At least he's easy on the eyes.

Oh! And he doesn't believe that brushing the pool caused it, he said it looks like an injury, maybe aggravated by the brushing.

HEY NOW! I asked if she might THINK about being taught LOL I love those dogs but........oh my strong willed and DIVA to the max!

Do you know of any injury that might have caused it? Did someone throw you in the pool and you land funny?

Ask him about a TENS machine. I got one for the husband and he LOVES it for his back. It really helps him on his bad days.

Kim

We actually have a TENS unit. The hubs uses it for his MS & failed spinal fusion. They hooked me up today at my appt. it helps while it's on, but once it's done, I don't feel any improvement. But I'll keep trying. I'm going back in Friday. It seems a little better but nighttime is tough. Hopefully more improvement.

I can't come up with anything that I could have done to hurt it. I'm clueless!

Mi pins are a lot like cats, but more hard headed!

Ok so mu builder and the decking guy said spray deck isn't cooler than stamped concrete. Weren't you told different?

I was ABSOLUTELY told different. I was told it's up to 15 degrees cooler than concrete. I haven't verified, just blindly believed.

It's like my all time favorite pic ever!

QUESTION:

It is hot. Very hot - nearing 100 each day. My numbers seem to be holding fine - still using the in-line chlorinator - wish I could keep it forever - talk about simplicity. Sigh. Back on track - question. So I have been playing around with setting the automation - and when I want to the pool to run. My PB has it running from 7AM - 2PM (I think) and then coming back on at 5PM - 11PM He has my water features come on from 6PM - 11PM.

Now - I was thinking with this heat - is their a rhyme or reason to run it during the hottest part of the day? I started last night to run my water features after dark to see if it cools off my pool - and it did - yesterday my water was 90 this morning it is 87! I am sure it will probably get warmer as the day goes . . .

I would be fine running my pool 24-7 also - but I haven't been able to figure out on the automation how to change the speed on the pump :) - I haven't gone through Pool School yet, just playing around now. My PB has it set on level 3 when it is running.

What pump schedule do you run when it is hot? Right now I am not worried about raising the PH with my features - my PH has been nice and steady for a couple of weeks and I run them all the time - so until that changes . . . I like running them!

IMO, the features should only run when you want them too, and there is no reason at all for them to be scheduled. You don't want to waste money on 24/7, unless you just want to burn some cash. I would run less than you are now for sure, and there is benefit to multiple run times, but you can shorten them. It's good to have a short mid day run to make sure fresh FC is distributed everywhere, and perhaps you need a little surface skimming. The bottom line is you could likely get away with 4-6 hours per day run time total. If the pool isn't skimmed or clear to your satisfaction, you can always add more time to each run. All this of course is going to greatly affect your chlorination if the feeder is your sole source of FC. It won't matter if you are using Bleach however. It is too bad you can't run it forever without getting over stabilized, but that's how it is unfortunately. What is your Cya now, and what's the plan once you have enough?
