Totally understand how you feel...... Pool building is not a walk in the park... You got to have humor in everything..... Our epic pool build lasted about 9 months and we really had to keep humor in the things all the workers did.... Your yard condition reminds me of my yard during the build... Rocks, trash, stuff were everywhere and the front yard was so ugly for a whole year..... But, eventually you get through.... So good luck and keep smiling!

Thank you for sharing that! It truly is an experience. And I would do it all over again if I had too. Im pretty sure it's going to be well worth it. And eventually, I will have "the voice of experience!" [emoji3]

You're doing great, JannyLee!! No kidding, you've got the right attitude. I understand about HOA's. My son would have actually loved it if a bobcat had been left in our yard. He's a rule follower, but he believes our HOA goes too far. He wouldn't really do it, but he once asked if we could buy this huge purple elephant statue and put it in our front yard.

We haven't had to contend with gravel in the street in front of our house. Somehow it's just worked out that way as far as timing, etc. And if they did need to leave something big, we have a huge long driveway they could use. Our mess is much tidier now that the deck has begun. And we're VERY lucky in that our front yard hasn't been touched. The gunite mole hills and trench walls we had for 6 or 8 weeks began to wear on me. Compared to that, things seem much better. It's up and down, but we all know eventually it gets put back together.

I'm sorry about your fence. I hope they intend to repair it?!!

Well that's slimy on their part. Then they have no reason to be careful! But I think that clause is more common than not.

So much done! So gorgeous!

My HOA has always been so laid back - but we just elected all new members. My neighbors have been written up for having a bicycle in their yard, being able to see a trash can from the road and having pallets in their backyard that can be seen from the common area (a park). We seriously have less than 50 homes - all on an acre and it has always been so laid back. It is getting all crazy now. Luckily I had approval for my pool and such from the previous members . . .

I have a HUGE trench dug up in my front yard where they are doing drainage - after all the HOA ruckus I told my builder there was no hurry to get that completed :)

I know the feeling. Yes, the superintendent was by the other day. He pointed to the broken fence and said "you better get your neighbor to repair that fence." (He told my husband) my husband just told him we were getting it repaired. He didn't mention that his guys ran into it and broke it with the bobcat. [emoji16]

It asked me when my completion date would be on the construction and pointed out that my propane tank, BBQ pit, lawn furniture can all be seen from the common areas. I let them know that we had a "little" rain here and it delayed construction, I am at the mercy of my pool builder, but NO ONE wants it completed more than me. They are just being jerks.
 
Yes...exactly what I'm hoping for. When we return from vacation, we will have a transformed yard. We have only had a slab (super small) like 3x3 in our back yard for 9 years. And grass. We planted two trees and talked about ideas. But our backyard is extremely hot. We get the setting sun. It is roasting out there from noon until dark. (Our backyard faces west). So, a pool just made sense. So even though our new deck is concrete, we are ecstatic. And the fact that we are getting a pergola across the entire back of our house is just a dream come true.

Once this is complete, I want to build a structure behind the pool for additional seating, privacy from the two story neighbors and I just like the idea. We also want raised landscaping along the back fence. I'd like crepe myrtles, but not sure. This pool building just makes me want to do more. Anyone else have that issue?
