New pool, Manor, Texas

Your backyard looks much better than mine has looked for 9 weeks.

But the mess in your front yard is absolutely unacceptable. I have had no messes left EVER in our front yard during the 9 weeks. We have a very strict HOA, and I would receive a letter if things were left that way for more than a night.

Sorry, I didn't mean that the mess in your backyard is ok. I don't think it is, but it seems to be the norm with a very few exceptions from the posts I've seen on TFP.

I'm very, very tired of the mud and dirt (mostly mud) being the first step out our back door.

I empathize with you. Take care. Suz.

Thanks, Suz. By the time I got home and saw it, I figure the damage has been done. No way I can move it. It is stone. So, hopefully they won't leave it tomorrow. I fully expect complaints. It's pretty crappy

But they know. But they expect it to be kept clean. Not all that trash. The broken limestone and the broken wooden pallet. [emoji23]
My neighbor said they were fine with it. Maybe they will move it tomorrow. I'm sure they were exhausted at the end of the day.

I am not saying a mess is okay. However, during construction it is different than neighbors who live like pigs on a daily basis. My construction in the backyard was not as nice as I would like, but seriously, it was CONSTRUCTION.. They were building a pool.

You have to figure out what you want to b**ch about...mess or workmanship. You could say it is the same...but it is not.

Leverage in the important things. The things that count.

Right. And they are moving right along. Which I do like... I'm not sure about the workmanship. Lol. We see different people every day. But I really don't want to argue over the little things. I've not said anything. Except. This pile in the front yard was. Shocking. Lol.

I would not hesitate to ask your PB if this is standard for his subcontractors. It's kind of like saying, um...I dunno, but at the same time bringing it to his attention.

Then he can "make things happen..." Or not. You kind of have to feel people out and see if that is too passive. Also depends on if you are ultimately okay with the mess or not. If you are not okay with that mess, then speak up to you PB. You have to choose your battles, this one might be worth it to you.

My backyard has been like this for several days. They just leave everything. But I am a little concerned about the front. Gross. My neighbors are probably in shock.

I'll trade you. My front and side yard used to be all smooth, even colorado river rock. It's been like this for 2 months.

I will get you a closeup. I was really happy with how it turned out. I love those little tiles with the diamonds. I think it gives it a little something extra without breaking the bank. [emoji3]

It's this tile but the glass pieces are a different color.

Oh and they sent the cleanup crew and removed all the stone from my front yard. Finally!
Tomorrow we are meeting with the superintendent to add more decking on the side of the pool. Hoping that won't have to go back through the city. Anyway, I know we aren't finished, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Hooray for the trash pick up!! I would have been very upset about any trash left in the front yard. I'm not crazy about it in the back, but at least it doesn't affect our friends and neighbors.

Your tile is looking great! That wall is beautiful. I can't wait to see it with the waterfall. When you can, post a picture with the sun showing the tiles better. I want to see that beautiful color! Take care. Suz.

Thanks, Kim! It was one of our last minute decisions as is the added half circle of decking to the left of the pool. We are having a pergola built across the entire back of the house. Part of it will be covered and the rest will be slatted. We have bought all our patio furniture and are now just waiting. It's getting closer.
