Brand New Pool Cloudy— Help I’m Desperate!

Do one last pH test for me. We can correct the chlorine interference by adding 1 drop of R-0007 to a 50 mL sample of pool water. Put 44ml in the pH test, add the drops...just to confirm.
 
I would test and replace FC to SLAM level every two hours, even into the night until you go to bed. Doing so frequently, in the beginning of the SLAM is going to help.

Watch your filter pressures. It may rise rapidly in the beginning as you start killing stuff.

Scratch that— the Ace Hardware is 10% chlorine, so he will get 4.

Yeah, when I had my only slam years ago, I was a MAD MAN. I had 8 days until the July 4th holiday...still in my logs. 7a to 1-2am, every 2 hours. I made it, and we had a glorious 4th. 45 gallons. I cleared out two aldi's and walmart...when I went to the checkout, the checker said, "I'm not going to ask..." A slam is a great motivator to learn. My pool has never seen algae since.

You are King SLAM! Yah, I’m not going to be able to do that…hoping it only takes a few days because ffs nobody has ever even swam in it, and it was refilled 5 days ago! I wonder if he just didn’t clean well enough (or at all!) before refilling.
 
Ha Ha, I've seen and helped clear way worse pools than yours or mine. I may have been king diligent, but others have had it waaaaay worse. I have a 30K pool, and I had to replace 50% because of high CYA.

Yours is likely just a lack of chlorine, with hot days allowing bacteria/algae to grow. The fact that you have such a large SWCG, and you ran it so high, saved you from the black and green swamp. It held it at bay, but no SWCG can SLAM a pool. You were lucky.

Thank you for all your help. I feel like you may own a pool biz. I really wish TFP had a directory of local contractors who used their methodology!!! Anyway, will keep my logs up and I may be buggin you later. Appreciate everything!

It said 24 when I entered my info? I retested & logged my CYA today after watching some more vids. I was still getting the hang of it last night, so I think the 60 is more accurate.

OK, CYA testing.

Stand outdoors. Sun to your back. Fill to the first line. Hold at your waist in the shade of your body. GLANCE down the tube. If it looks like the picture "end test" below, at A GLANCE, you are done. Take the number next to the line and add 10. That is your CYA. Still see the dot, fill to the next line, if it looks like the picture, take the number from that line and add 10. Repeat until it looks like the pic below, take the number at the line, then add 10.

Yah I don’t think it was completely covered yesterday. Today I did it inside and it was easier to see. And if this isn’t gonna work due to that little of an issue, I may as well blow my whole Dang pool up bc I’m at my wit’s end & so is my hubby. 😩
