My first time posting I have spent like 500 dollars this week and my problem remains..me and my wife left town my pool was uncovered partially..when I opened up it was nasty.cleaned out everything the pool store told me to use stabilizer so I did that.scrubbed and my pool turned teal the next day.after that got levels right and flocked..after vacuuming I could see the bottom..restarted my pump and water has been cloudy for a week..tried clarifier no phos,nothing worked so last night I tried the shock and flock method.3pds of shock then I flocked.this morning still cloudy and can't see the bottom. Can't restart filter because of flock and my chlorine levels is low..I don't know what to do..Help!!

Can you vacuum to waste to remove the floc?
We have a SLAM Process which is the best solution but stop adding floc, no phos and any potion from the pool store.
How do you chlorinate your pool?
It is best to use liquid chlorine to get the pool back in shape. Can purchase at Walmart or Home Depot. Pool store may sell it as well but I do not want to subject you to them trying to sell unneeded chemicals.

Thank you so much for the reply..I was actually wrong I spent 730 in one week for no results..I have a sand filter I can wash to waste but I can't see the bottom..I triple shocked my pool last night but here are my readings.fc 0.24 total c 0.24 ph 7.6 ta 82 ch 242 cyanuric acid 51 phosphates 37 tds 700.my water quality is 80%..I have tablets I use for my water..
We can help you through the SLAM Process but unfortunately I need to ask you to spend some money.
Please read through the SLAM process so you see what it will take from a time commitment and testing.
You will need a test kit that tests Chlorine using a FAS/DPD method. We will need to raise your FC to 20ppm so basic test kits can't do it. Furthermore, you will need to test 2-4 times a day so you do not need to keep running to the pool store for their free test.
Please consider purchasing one of the recommended test kits - Test Kits Compared. The TF-100 is a better value kit - you can do a higher quantity of tests then with the Taylor K-2006-C but the choice is yours.
The 3 needed tests are pH (initially), the CYA (initially) and FC (throughout the day).
The second expense is purchasing Liquid Chlorine. That will raise your FC levels quickly (and better than granular shock).
Let us know how you wish to proceed. The SLAM process has proven itself time and time again so we know we can get your pool back to clear water and then you can maintain it at a lot less cost going forward.
