Have aqualogic control board and 20,000 G pool with spa
When it starts it always starts in pool mode.
I hear that the water needs to mix to keep spa fresh
How to others set control to do this automatically?

Can we assume you have a spillover spa? If so, you schedule a spillover for 20 minutes or so twice a day to refresh the spa.
Read the documentation for your automation on how to set that up.

13,

You almost never run in the spa mode unless you are going to use the spa..

The automation normally runs in the pool mode and the spa water spills over into the pool.

Does your spa not overflow into the pool?

Thanks,

Jim R.

Yes I have a spill over spa!
I was having issues figuring out how to schedule the spillover..even after the reading

13,

Just to be clear.. your spa does not continuously spill over into your pool.. It only spills over when the automation tells it to spillover..

If that is the case, then schedule your automation to run the spillover twice a day for 20 to 30 minutes each time.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Re scheduling automation: I must have set system up wrong initially because I do not see in setting menu where I have that option.

You can enable the Spa Spillover in the Configuration Menu.

To schedule the spa spillover to run automatically you use a GROUP function assigned to an AUX button. The GROUP function uses an AUX button and an AUX relay.

You either need to pick an AUX relay that has no equipment connected to it or if you have no empty AUX relays then you need to combine some equipment to create an empty a relay for the spillover function.

There is no way to decouple the AUX button for the spillover from the relay with the equipment it powers.

You can only assign one time period to each AUX button.

However if you have two extra AUX buttons and relays available, you can assign different time periods to each while having the same functions.

The only downside to a GROUP function is that it uses one of the AUX relays.
