Passed. One section I thought was a big brown mark. I wanted to go R Lee Ermey from FMJ on it (What the F is that? WHAT THE F IS THAT?)
Then I started scrubbing... and realized it was just a shadow and the angle of the sun was giving it an odd color.
Yeah, so, I passed. No clouds. Thank you so much folks. I'll be throwing money for a gold supporter come pay day.

Depends first on how long you need to run it to generate the chlorine you need each day. Second is for skimming.

I run my pump in the summer for 6-7 hours. My SWCG is set at 60%. That generates ~4.2 ppm FC per day. I run it during the hours the sun is on the surface of the pool. Being in the desert, the UV impact is very intense.
The sun here doesn't start hitting the pool until 8 or 9 (house blocks most of it). Around 9 or 10, its on the pool part partially then makes its way as it's rising and putting more light on it.
I think I'll start at 9 and have it go until it hits 6. Might adjust the 9 to 10 at some point, but I'll see how it is.
Setting the SWCG to 65%, letting it run for 9 hours would raise it by 4.5 in my volume pool.
I'll adjust accordingly I guess based off my results. How often do you guys test when learning how to adjust it properly? Twice a day?

Daily is fine. Same time each day. Preferably just before the SWCG starts each day.
Unfortunately my work schedule (rotating shifts) doesn't quite allow that. I'll have to play it by ear and hope for the best.

Just did a test and it came at 24.5. Slowly coming down.
As PH when the CL is over 10 isn't accurate, I'll wait to start testing that then?

I set the timer to start at 10a, and end at 7p. (For now)
As I want to test for CL before I start the SWCG, should I manually start the pump and test for CL after 30 minutes to get a close reading? If it's too high, I'll leave the SWCG off.
Trying to find a right procedure to balance this. Didn't know if the water has to circulate for awhile just to test for CL.

Yes, you need a well mixed pool to get a good test sample. I usually test my pool a few minutes after the pump shuts off for the day. If chlorine is on the low side, I bump the SWCG up appropriately. If chlorine is too high, I bump it down.
If you want to test in the morning, you have to run the pump with the generator for 30 minutes or so.

I'll start it around 915 manually. I have a feeling it's still a bit high and I might not be starting the SWCG till tomorrow.

Sounds like it'll be another day for the salt generator. Odd part is the salt jumped from 3200 to 3400 in a week. I know I dumped quite a bit of CHL in tho.
