You are doing a super job & I bet will pass very soon! I didn't think I ever would and it took 3 OCLT's in a row before I finally passed. Each time was a bit closer to where after the 2nd fail I just started hammering again every 2 hours then it passed that night. Sometimes that bit extra will push it through. Then to be extra sure, once I let the fc get into normal range I did another oclt just to be sure kinda thing lol

Take the cover off. Turn the cover over. Take a picture...I want to see the numbers.
CL dropped to 20 around 5. About 4.5 hrs after I brought it up to 28 (or near there).
Dumped a bunch more CL in. Hopefully with its friends cleaned out behind the light, the tide will be turning.

Great. The pac fab wiers have little tabs at the bottom that you squeeze toward the center of the door to remove.
From looking down the skimmer after removing the cover? Issue is, I can't see them.
Are they in the middle or to the side?

As it over shot my target for 28, is it possible my CYA is more 60 than 70? I was torn between the two (stupid test)

Look in this corner. and across the bottom of the weir door. Look from the pool side too, you should see how they are removed...
I'll try. My phone was dangling about an inch above the water in the skimmer where I was taking the picture.

OCLT night test 23.5
Not sure what to think about it dropping from 30 to 23.5 tho. Kind of disheartening.

Prolly all that algae you released from the light.

Re did the overnight test.
First test I did had me about 27, the second I did was 28.
Not sure what to make of it? How did my CL go up overnight unless it wasn't 100% mixed in from when I tested before bed (23.5 CL @ 9:49p) vs adding the CL (8:21p)?
I think I passed the overall test. But still scratching my head. Lol (even though I'm a bit giddy inside)

Testing error. Happens when you are stressed and tired from long slam. An hour an a half is plenty time for chlorine to mix.
I'd keep the slam one more day, doesn't have to be aggressive slam (like every two hours), just a couple times today, then tonight, be really careful with your test process.
Clean your vial and stir pill with alcohol and let it dry. Make sure you add enough powder. You want it nice and pink, with a couple specs of powder undissolved. When you squeeze drops, squeeze slowly, let each drop fall on its weight. Have someone else count drops with you. Hold the reagent bottle vertically.

Let the chlorine come down to just above target and start the SWCG generating your normal FC daily loss. Start at 3 ppm FC each day and adjust as necessary to maintain at or above target FC.
