Now that I think about it - I noticed a few spots this same color on the pool liner itself too. I’m guessing the high iron is from our water here and not something I can change before it goes in pool right? Are the liner stains something that’s fixable? Any way to prevent them?
The impeller thing - I’m still a little confused about. I’ve taken a wire and stuck it back there and I was able to easily turn it. But if I’m reading your response correctly - that doesn’t necessarily mean that there isn’t a clog because it could be behind the impeller - is that right?
Maybe pertinent info:
1. the pump has been way louder than ever before - our neighbor even came by to complain about it. I’ve been turning it off for days at a time until the suction issue can be fixed to see if that helps. It usually stays on 24/7.
2. Filter pressure has been elevated - almost 20 psi when before it was around 5.
3. This one is so embarrassing to admit but I don’t know what details are important so I’m just telling them all. Using the drain bladder so much makes the pool water level rise to almost overflowing. Yesterday I turned the pump on and set the filter to waste to drain some water out. It was coming out really slow so I left it for a few hours. I went to check it and the water line was all the way down under the return jets and the liner was bulging out in one place. Yeah I messed up bad - God I hope that doesn’t mean the liner has to be replaced now.
4. I remember before the suction quit working I vacuumed up a ton of leaves, acorns, pine needles, etc. at bottom of pool and I never saw much of anything come out in the pump basket - that’s why I was thinking it all must be clogged in the pipe before the pump. I already had snapped two different poles in half trying to pick up debris with the leaf rake thing previously. So that’s why I was trying to vacuum the stuff up even though I feared it might clog up the pipes. And I had been able to clear previous clogs relatively easily with the drain bladder. Since then - I bought a leaf vacuum and the ProTuff pole to hopefully avoid this happening again in the future.
5. When I turn the Jandy valve so water is just coming from skimmer to pump - water flow in pump basket isn’t right - it only comes about halfway up and then seems to stop. I have an older vid from last clog - let me try to find it.
Typing this all out combined with the disastrous liner bulge incident from last night is making me think that maybe I better stop this before I do some serious damage if I haven’t already. I don’t want to give up yet but do you think I’m in way over my head?
Someone on here once told me that the pool was an inanimate thing that would bend to my will eventually and I always replay that over & over again in my head - especially when I get really frustrated and want to give up and just cover the thing up and throw away all the hard work I’ve done over the past nine months. I’m trying to use the pool to get in shape - it’s so much easier on my joints, arthritis, getting old, etc. But it seems like it’s just one huge problem after another and I’m probably the cause of at least half of them

Does that work? Ignore the title :I
