Perhaps that gasket, along with your silicone, was not quite seated but with some heat in use it di just that - seated a tiny spot. Something to keep an eye on. Fingers crossed right?

If so, there's got to be something wrong at the bottom of the filter with a lateral itself, how it is connected, or perhaps the center pipe/hub assembly it's connect to.

Were you able to confirm if it's isolated at the bottom of the housing/seal plate area like @1poolman1 had mentioned?

Not sure where I am in this thread. Sounds like the leak stopped.

To determine a seal leak you feel the bottom of the motor right where it attaches to the sealplate. If you look at a picture of the motor, you will see the flange is not solid across the bottom. That is so a seal leak can be seen sooner so less damage is done. If you feel water there and it isn't coming from an area above that you can see, seal leak.

And is it ok.to run? It might take me some time to get another seal

To isolate your pad from the pool, you have two areas to focus on. In front of the pool's main pump is a 3-way valve, then there's another 3-way valve after the tab feeder where water goes back to the return jets. Both of those valves need to be closed. They are actuator valves which means they are controlled by something - probably your Aqualink control system. There should be a setting to close those two valves. Honestly automation isn't my thing, so we can wait to see if Poolman joins the conversation later or I can tag someone

I am still fighting my seal replacement on my pump

I ordered a new impeller.
The old one has a black ring around the gold screw hole

Part 071732 (I also saw a 071734 that isn't salt resistant)
TThat appears to be the seal part. But when I compare the seals and impellers, I am not seeing it on either

Is that a separate part/o ring?

I may have been better off with a new pump

Place a small amount of silicone sealant (don't let it set), or pool lube on the rubber cup. Press into the new impeller. Install on the motor. Don't worry about what you see. As the impeller is tightened on the motor shaft that part of the seal will seat itself to the proper depth.

I didn't have the right ring on the impeller screw

Does the ceramic seal that goes into the impeller...I have us seal ps-1000...Is the rubber part flush with the impeller hole? The picture is where I am at

Are you all back together and trying to run the system? Some sand filters don't have air release.

and everyone on this site who post here.

Took two weeks and I am not sure I saved any money (don't really want to add it all up, TBH)

But I learned so much, and put so many miles going back to stores not just once but multiple times in a day. And I got some really cool tools. Some I bought by mistake and others came in perfectly handy

I had some wiring issues as well which also took a ton of time. But I think we are good. Fingers crossed!!!!
